Millions on the table.

Tbh I don’t fuk with the dodgers as much the last few years. This is probably least favorite team in recent years
Just saw them Friday and Saturday play the young Nats. You guys score runs and that is all that matters.
7 runs will take you far.
And Freddie Freeman continues to destroy the nats no matter what uniform he wears.

Braves can clinch the East on the Phillies field tonight behind Strider if he has his sh*t together.

The last time the Braves clinched a division this early was 1995. Guess who won the World Series in 1995?

Let's lock in the best record in baseball now. Magic number for that is like 12 on the Orioles I think. National League magic number is 10 over the Dodgers I think

Braves possibly out.

Dodgers gone. Braves gone. I was sorry to see the O's go. Mets and Yanks weren't even invited to the party.

It is pretty mind blowing when the top 2 teams by record can't hit teams in the playoffs with few changes.
The Dodgers top stars forgot to hit, as did Altlanta.
Mookie who, Freddie who, Ronald Acuna (mvp), Olson who?

This is what happens when you create a separate round for the wildcard teams and let the teams who won 100 games take a full week off. Obviously the teams that have been in a rhythm and playing good baseball more recently are going to perform better. Hope MLB is happy with their attempts to further devalue the regular season.
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

All I heard was so much sh*t all season for criticizing the Braves for not bringing in a SS and LF during free agency, and for questioning trading Contreras for Murphy.

I have no problem acknowledging Arcia was great during the regular season. Murphy was good in the first half and disappeared in the 2nd. But it's not just about the regular season here. I've watched the Braves play great time and time again during the season only to completely disappear in the NLDS. If zere0wn had any sense at all he'd know why I'm always wanting the Braves to do everything they can to have the most reliable people as possible at every position. It's because of sh*t like this where they all disappear suddenly.

So here we go:
Arcia - 2/13
Rosario/Pillar (LF) - 1/12
Murphy - 2/7

For reference Willson Contreras hit .333 with a .733 OPS in his 2 playoff games. As for SS, Swanson didn't make the playoffs obviously, but Trea Turner did and we all saw what he did. Carlos Correa was another legit SS available who hit over .400 for the Twins in his games. Now the Braves signing either of them was unrealistic. I was never asking for them, but they could have signed Swanson or maybe Bogaerts. Regardless it must be nice to have a real SS on your team for a playoff run.

Add in getting a real outfield for left, I was pushing for Nimmo who followed up with another strong year for an abysmal Mets team.

Would these changes mattered? Honestly hard to say because a good chunk of the Braves lineup decided to go to sleep. Only Riley and Albies really showed up. Olson maybe a fringe 3rd option who wasn't totally lost but I wouldn't call him on point either. So having a real SS and OF to fill those gaps may not have made any real difference but it sure as sh*t didn't help having the automatic outs we did have in there.

This offseason it'd be great if zere0wn just shut the f*ck up and let the adults recognize what the Braves do or do not need to be doing to give the team it's best chance in the playoffs next year. Clown mother f*cker celebrating Arcia in here in July like he's some retarded prophet.

Preview time: They need a starting pitcher with Wright gone and Morton an uncertainty. Someone who is #2 caliber. In b4 zere0wn tells me how they have Elder coming on strong or some other horse sh*t response about not needing to sign a reliable starter. This is in addition to neglecting the OF for 3 years and SS for this past year. The list grows when all you do is make unilateral moves trading one catcher for another and pretending to your fan base you made an addition.

As for the playoff format I do agree it doesn't give the division winners any advantage making them wait. At the same time that's not why the Braves and Dodgers lost. These two teams have been disappearing in October long before the MLB gave them a bye while other teams played.

The Orioles honestly I think were just too young.

They should reduce the regular season games and expand the playoffs so there is no BYE.
Its clearly affecting these good teams to put them on ice for a week while lower teams can stay warm and in rhythm.

As a Giants Fan, i kind of agree, but rest for injuries doesn't make you lose your ability to hit, run,and catch in simply a week.
You had spring (March-April) then you had (April October) to figure that out.

let's listen to the good teams that flamed out and see what they say is the real cause.

Atlanta was done 5 weeks ago.

Their "top 5 all time" offense really showed in a 5 game series once against and the stupid ****ing phillies.

Not sure what is more pathetic, their offense or their 2 pitchers.

Hopefully the Rangers pull it out.

one interesting thought - if you have a bye then you're kind of guaranteed to run into a hot team, since they just came off a series win. Obviously not the full explanation (a lot of it is luck), but there's something to that i'd think.

a bye used to mean rest and freshness, not forget the entire season in 1 week.

1 & 2 seeds in the division series since expanded to the 3-game WC round: 3-5

1 & 2 seeds in the division series not named Braves and Dodgers: 3-1

Pretty sure some of you (zere0wn being the lowest of the IQ's leading the charge) here are misinterpreting the two biggest playoff choke artists in baseball losing like normal for the "long layoff" being the reason better seeded teams are losing.

The Braves in particular have the worst division series record of any team in baseball.
