Also, the protestors didn’t arbitrarily choose a residential neighborhood to set up camp, they were targeting parliament / government buildings. Unfortunate for the public who live in that area, but they were never a target for anything. It would appear you are twisting facts to assign a different intent, and then arguing that the intent is misdirected.

I agree - except for the fact there's been tons of incidents of the people who live there having to deal with constant noise, intimidation by protestors if they are wearing masks, and also several businesses were vandalized. There are also lots of places they could have parked (like west of Wellington and down the parkway) where nobody lives. So as much as the intent of the main body was to only stay near Parliament, the overflow caused havok with the residents and was anything but peaceful. The organizers are culpable for the behaviour of the people there, they could have easily told people to stop honking and harrassing people and leave businesses alone.

Unfortunate, but in the grand scheme of “protests”, this was a tickle-fest compared to what has gone on endlessly south of your border.

I can definitely understand it is annoying as fukk, but to refer to it as terrorism or white supremacy is so fukkin embarrassing, and obvious that you are throwing whatever you can at it in the hopes you can make something stick so it will go away.

Hmm.

So looks like so far police have locked down entering the main convoy area with they say 100 checkpoints. Also are closing most of the exits from the highway unless you have nothing to do with the convoy and making sure that new fuel, etc can't get into the area. they have also been walking around warning anyone with children to leave immediately. Don't know if there will be anything going down tonight, they may give it one more night to encourage people to leave on their own. Also they are blocking off anyone new showing up for the weekend.
So the g9vernments are proving which protests they'll tolerate, and which ones they won't?

This is a big issue I have with it. Sort of unrelated directly to this topic, but I feel like these words have been thrown around so casually in the last few years that they really undermine how big of a deal they are (along with the word "racist," and to a lesser extent "rape culture"). They're used so baselessly that people will eventually be desensitized to them, if not already.

It's a real issue and it makes it harder to feel compassionate towards people that actually experience these issues to a degree where it has a physical or mental effect on them long term. I personally believe a lot of people will begin to write them off and roll their eyes immediately, hope I'm wrong though.

The people being harassed have nothing to do with restricting anyone's freedom. They are residents of a city.
