There was an interesting article about the huge list of top paid NFL guys that go bankrupt. Divorce was one of the most expensive things that contributed.

Secondly - I'd have no control over the parachutes, which is why I'd never go parachuting under any circumstances.

No one ever considers that maybe he have had 15 great years of marriage? Or maybe he was the one whom decided that it was time to split up? I agree that its fked that they dont split and sell the house, but with kids involved its tricky. Who gives if he got divorced if he actually enjoyed the times they had? Just move on. Cant be resentful for changes in life, and certainly you cant be afraid to live. Only fked thing is the how the court handle these cases in the US. Unlike what most miscers believe European countries have 100x more fair and reasonable policys concerning these matters.

It depends - each divorce is different. Breadwinners, either it be the man or woman, has to pay alimony, support, etc. Look at the female celebrities who got divorced and now have to pay their husbands.
It is just that normally the dude is the breadwinner and has to pay up. Also, it depends how spiteful and hateful the divorce was. I work with a dude who when they split, they just went their own ways. Each filed taxes as individuals and each were responsible for their own outcome. They didn't have kids, but also didn't have to pay any alimony, even though the judge pushed for his ex to accept it. She said she didn't want him in her life anymore and that she could do it on her own.
That dude lucked out and I asked him why they split. I guess they just wanted different things and changed over time. Luckily it was early enough that they didn't have any kids or anything else cause that could have gotten messy.

of course signing a marriage contract is worse from a legal standpoint than cohabitating. lol@miscers who think it's the same

People change over time. My divorce was a result of that simple fact, luckily we didn't have kids, and didn't ACT like children during our divorce. I don't regret the marriage, odd as that may seem.

A lot of "men" are pusays and let the wife have the house and more expensive car. They dont fight, or barley, fight the divorce. It is heavily stacked in the womans favor but if a man fights hard and from the start. Giving no passes to the bitch, he can do ok. Document everything, hide your wealth and assets if you can.

why the fukk is it always the man leaving the home, giving away the nice car, paying child support, etc...
bruh, as much as u americans hate muslims, you gotta admit that our laws are way more fair when it comes to divorces. In morocco when a married couple divorces they both keep the property that was in their name, and that's it. Only the custody of the child is to be discussed, but you don't get screwed for your material belongings at least.

the irony being, if the man didnt have divorce hung over his head, he could actually be a man of his household and the wife would be a lot happier and wouldnt want to divorce in the first place...

hes currently looking for a studio, he is saying bye bye to his 5 bedroom home.
if he just had a kid and not married, would he be only half fuked?

If she can't buy it from him and wants to stay then he should be able to get some credit towards child and or spousal support.
Question, he drove the caddy all the time and put his wife and kid in the beater? Typically most people put the kids in the best car in the house.

Idk how women do this stuff, my fianc has too much pride to take anything. If we were to divorce she would cut all ties and go her own way, and I would give her whatever I think she deserves. Unless shes angry at you for cheating and wants to ruin your life, a quality woman will take nothing from you.
