You Americans are savage. 140,000 people killed instantly in Hiroshima and another 80,000 in Nagasaki.

Use probably set modern day science back 200 years. We could all have flying cars by now if this didn't happen.

I don't know about that. The results of that paved the way to their massive economic and scientific advancements. Due to the fact that they no longer focused on military, and instead focused on their economy.

It was better than the alternative that would have cost millions of lives if they invaded mainland Japan instead.

1) We'd all be dead if that didn't happen. Hiroshima and Nagasaki gave the world a chance to see how destructive nuclear weapons are while we still only had a few of them and while they were still at their least powerful. It put MAD (mutually assured destruction) into place. If we hadn't seen that, the first use of nuclear weapons would have been when both sides of the cold war had hundreds or thousands of bombs each hundreds of times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.

2) Japan was ISIS level religious (Shinto/ god-emperor) extremist at that time. If we didn't nuke them, they'd have fought us to the last woman and child rushing into machine guns with bamboo spears. Japan might not even exist as a country or even a people anymore if we had launched a land invasion. The nukes saved millions of lives.

3) It was WW II. WW II was the apocalypse, the end of the world, happening in real-time for the people at that time. That meant that everyone did whatever they could to survive less they perish. Morals went out the window. The first person with morals was the first person that Darwinism selected against and quickly eliminated from existence. For a period of 8 years, we were thrown out of our cozy first world utopias and cast back into nature.

Lots of people who were beaten, abused and raped as children learned how to triumph over adversity and became successful in life. So let's abuse the chit out of our kids to build their character ayyy lmao.

There's honestly no bigger cope on this earth than how people try to rationalise these nukes. If one innocent American is killed by ISIS there's people literally crying on TV and demanding revenge. But 200,000 innocent Japanese murdered and decades of birth defects and radiation poisoning and it's all, "well their nation became economically successful afterwards so maybe these nukes were just the leg-up they needed!"

Check out the firebombings of Dresden. Mainly led by the British but we were involved. Now that's also some ****ed up stuff. Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut tAlks about the topic, great read.

That ******* emperor was the main reason that Japan surrendered. He was one of the few people that weren't indoctrinated into their ISIS level religious extremism of Shinto Extremism/ emperor-worship. He saved his country and people while surrendering and was almost assassinated and overthrown while doing so. He was one of the few Japanese people that weren't brainwashed since everyone else was brainwashed into worshiping him.

The Japanese of that time deserved it. The sick **** they did, they needed a cleansing by fire.

A ground invasion would have taken many more lives, there was -no- surrender for the Japanese.

Well, I'm glad that Japan was nuked because I'm part Japanese and probably wouldn't be alive otherwise. Japanese people were brainwashed to an ISIS level of religious extremism and would have fought to the death of every last woman and child. That means that my grandmother probably would have died running into an American machine gun like a retard trying to chuck a bamboo spear.

I don't think we had any others ready for use after Little Boy and Fat Man.

USSR didn't have nuclear bombs for another 4 years.

Operation Unthinkable would've been the worst thing that could've happened after WWII (google it).

lol this again.

i love how Americans bring up "it saved lives". Because the war was on a knifes edge.

The nuke was equivalent to a UFC fighter tackling a fighter that had submitted 20 seconds ago and was getting checked by a physician while the press and trainers where already in the ring congratulating him.

Im not judging... I think the bombs were beneficial for the world at the time. But at the same time i aint falling for the BS american propaganda.

Agree 100% with the bold part. I wouldn't even mind if there wasn't the blatant coping hypocrisy about how it was the kindest thing to do or whatever. No nation in war ever takes that into consideration, they want to destroy their enemy, whatever it takes to surrender. Nuketech of peace obviously made that possible in an extremely efficient way. But please cut the bullchit and stop pretending the US government nuked civilian cities for humanitarian reasons ffs.

Are you aware of the things the Japanese did to POW? They were accusations of them eating, EATING POW's, beheading etc. Nanking Massacre? They raped and pillaged women and children!

They bombed Pearl Harbor, men were entombed in their ships while they slept.

They did some sick **** and they needed cleansing.

The worst thing they did during WWII was Unit 731:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

But America turned a blind eye to 731, Nanking, etc in exchange for the records and their best scientists (Operation Paperclip)

When you're at the point of training elementary school children to pick up spears and charge into machine gun nests to protect the Emperor that isn't a man but is actually a god on Earth, you're past the point of defending your country and into the range of brainwashing.

They did evil things. But an atomic bomb wasnt about cleansing. It was purely symbolic.

1. Japan was completely and utterly incapacitated. the war was over.
2. Japan attempted surrender negotiations several days beforehand and America didnt even listen to one word of it, they wanted non-negotiable surrender. Several countries tried to come in to help with negotiations. Including Russia
3. More than twice as many people died from conventional fire bombing. the nukes didnt kill that much comparatively.
4. Bomb was purely symbolic at Russia, who had come for a land grab.
5. Surrendering without negotiations is a death sentence. Japan did evil things to their prisoners and expected the same in return unless their was any reason to surrender.

I think the Nuke was the best outcome, but im not judging people who lived in a total war state

Why is it that every time somebody watches a documentary they take every word of it as fact, believe they are an expert on the subject of the documentary, and want to talk to everybody about it and regurgitate what they saw in the documentary.

I think the Nuke was the best outcome, but im not judging people who lived in a total war state
1) There was going to be a coup d'etat because of the council considering surrender.
2) They wanted conditional surrender and everyone else wanted unconditional surrender. Japan wanted to ensure that the emperor system remain. That's why, I believe, the negotiations had so many problems. That and no one trusted them.
3) The problem with the nukes was the aftermath. The deaths that came from radiation poisoning, birth defects, etc were insane.
4) The bomb was to put an absolute end to the war immediately with the least amount of American casualties while also making USSR think "wtf".
5) They got off so easy. Emperor Hirohito went around the world after the war as a celebrity when he should have been tried as a war criminal.
