All life on Earth can be traced through the process of natural selection and evolution--so much so--that even if there was a God he wouldn't have had to do anything except LDAR and life as we know it would still exist.

At least one of these things must be false.
Bad things happen often times by MAN. WE HAVE FREE WILL FOR A REASON, AND MAN ABUSES THAT.

And also in the form of a test from God, and to maybe turn people back to God

How do you disprove something exists? Stating there is no real proof something does exist is proof enough. No proof of something existing means it doesn't exist.

On that basis then, you have just disproved both God AND the Big Bang.

And to be honest, it really isn't.

Every observation we have of space beyond our moon is molded to fit theories. Pictures of planets are colorized to how we think they should look because lack of atmosphere means diffusion of light acts different. Big unknown objects that block light of other objects we call black holes. If 2 of these things collide and make waves it holds no bearing on the span of my 80+ years on this rock. If Mars isn't actually red and Venus isn't actually yellow it holds no bearing on my life either.

We don't even have a written history for most of our own existance and keep digging up artifacts either predating known settling (bones found under a bar in Ireland that predate the Celts) or push our advanced civilization timeline back further (Sumerian is like 10k years back I think?)

Basically, the way I see it if we can't keep a written record of ourselves for more than a couple of hundred years, who's to say 2000 years ago we weren't just as civilized, or even further back. All things LDAR eventually and get lost to time.

I'm not a literalist Christian (Earth created in 7 days, Earth is only 4k years old), but do have faith.
Wow, so much is wrong here.

The reason we don't have records going that far back is because far enough back language/writing hadn't been or was still being developed. We were in caves scratching pictures on the walls, etc.

False. If they were just as civilized there would be plenty of evidence of that left behind. We find loads of dinosaur fossils but we cant find any evidence of some supposed advanced civilization 2000 years ago. I don't think so. Or, let me guess. The aliens covered it up?

It never ceases to amaze me that these threads go on for so many pages with the same old lame arguments from both sides. You either believe or you don't. Why get so worked up trying to convince the other side your position is correct? Who GAF?

My opinion is wrong, chief? Never brought up aliens and I wasn't implying pre-human caveman scrawlings. What's advanced civilization for you? The ability to scroll jelqing posts? Clusters of humans with law, agriculture, math, and language is the basic line drawn between us and knuckle draggers. The big debate is if that sprung from Mesopotamia then spread to Asia or if it started in Asia and spread down through traveling and trade. Our time frame of human spreading across the planet is beginning to clash with what we're now theorizing with previous ice ages. There's no way wanderers without tools walked to North America/Canada from the far east as the ice shelves were hundreds of feet high at that proposed time. Meaning boats and basic navigation were used and artifacts found in California are confirming this. This is stuff taught in public schools, this isn't fringe or psuedo science.

Now if you want to go tin foil and argue the validity of carbon dating, aliens, go do that in the comments of some conspiracy video on youtube. Just because you're alive now does not mean you're part of a linear advancement of your race. Twitter, internet, and electronics are just another tool the animal man has utilized. Man creates, destroys, destroys itself, and starts over. Our advancement happens in swells and step backs.

Except the first humans or homos would've never survived to evolve if they weren't initially made to survive the environment.

I honestly don't understand why agnosticism isn't more widely accepted. Show some humility for ****s sakes. We, as a species, are way too dumb and ignorant to even comprehend what life is. This most likely will never change. It is ok to say "I have no idea man. None, whatsoever." Because you'd be right. The Quran, the Bible - all written by men. Fact.

Edit: I guess what I'm saying is that both sides can demand proof until they are blue in the face - it wont change the fact that at the end of the day no one knows for sure what caused anything to spring into being.

Of course, your brain is puny and can't comprehend all, but it's quite illogical to say something to come from nothing...
But you really think we as humans, the only creature with a mind as complex and sophisticated as ours were made with no purpose? Just to be animals?

The thing is, that is illogical.

Nothing in science and Islam is contradictory. NOTHING.

And to me there are signs that it is indeed true. When Islam was followed perfectly, that is when Muslims thrived in the universe. Science/Math came from Muslims...

Christians tho, when they were in control they had the dark ages. Christianity is flawed and is a control mechanism for those in the Church.

Islam however when followed preaches knowledge and equality for everyone. IF EVERYONE FOLLOWED THE CHARITY REQUIREMENTS OF ISLAM(JUST 2.5% OF YOUR UNNEEDED WEALTH NOT A SINGLE PERSON WOULD GO HUNGRY)

Islam when followed as is in the book, brings a life of peace, equality, justice.. Christianity and the current atheist rule we live under now bring about the dark ages and treating people as animals, women as meat, no morals, and immense poverty.

Perfectly?

It's not perfect at all. Look at earth quake, tsunami, asteroids hitting each other. If it was perfect, those things wouldn't be happening.

This is new and exciting.

Of course you can't prove that a creatordoesn'texist.

You can't even prove gravity. As far as abstract or complex concepts go, you basically can'tproveanything. You have to ask yourself what is the most likely scenario, what does evidence support? What is possible, what is logical?

Not defending the potato you are quoting.

In my opinion saying something is or is not perfect is silly because there is only our perception of perfect. It's a mess out there, but maybe it's the perfect mess?

Also, and this is more factual, nothing is random. Everything happens for a reason. If you trace an event far enough back you can find the series of events that led to it eventually happening.

....entity out there.

You really think this world just came to be so perfectly out of nothing?????
Imagine a puddle of water in a hole in the pavement. The puddle says to the hole "how great it is that you are so perfectly shaped to perfectly hold me."

That's pretttttty much your logic there. And lol at humans being perfect.

Edit: I guess what I'm saying is that both sides can demand proof until they are blue in the face - it wont change the fact that at the end of the day no one knows for sure what caused anything to spring into being.
The book itself might be written by men, but we don't know what life was like for Jews/Christians, that's why the bible/torah only applied to those people at that time, we are not expected to believe in that. The Quran however came about to a man who was illiterate, is the most complex linguistic piece of Arabic there is and no one can compete with it, and when reading it I do indeed believe it is the word of God, the maker of the universe, because of the way of life and laws it brings forth along with the way of the life of the man who it was revealed to, Muhammad, it is a perfect way of life. Justice, equality, peace, health, etc....

You're right, we are too dumb to comprehend what life even is, but to think we just happened to be on this world with the minds/free will that we have and for there not to be a guide for our lives to me is ridiculous. And I do believe the Quran is a perfect guide for our time.

Can't tell me alcohol is good for people/society, that's why it's prohibited (EVEN THOUGH THE QURAN MENTIONS THERE IS LITTLE BENEFIT IN IT, BUT THE BAD OUTWEIGHS THE GOOD)
Can't tell me interest is good for society ( debt is burdening ppl like crazy w/interest rates)
Can't tell me 50% divorce rates/ broken homes are good for society (Islam is all about a stable family structure)
Can't tell me the highly promiscous society is good for people (STDS/AIDS/UNWANTED PREGNANCIES/ETC...)
I could go on

Also, and this is more factual, nothing is random. Everything happens for a reason. If you trace an event far enough back you can find the series of events that led to it eventually happening.
that's a theory too. Unless we have big picture, it would be really tough to say but you're right. It's just perspective and our eyes are not the best thing to judge true nature of something.

Which black circle is bigger?
