Average salary for doctoral degree age 25+ is 79k
None of them worked as hard as your engineering bro I guess. I know a bunch of girls who managed to get into pharmacy school and they're all idiots, even downright lazy I would say for a few of them. So no, you *******, hard work =/= high salary.
That is your reality check. I am not saying you didn't work hard. I am saying it's far from the only reason you or your case study example friends are making money.

I am so disgusted by this thread that I had to make an account just to point out how pathetic this is. It's gotten out of hand here on the misc.
What we are seeing here is the lowest most degrading form of confirmation bias. You are all crying like little children about how you won't be adored by the masses while your life passes by at breakneck speed.

I hear so many guys age 30 complain about how life sucks making an average salary and average life, but they never had the work ethic to do anything that they will benefit when they are older. They would rather go out and party instead of studying. Let's face it guys, unless you are a pro athlete or extremely lucky and succeed in other fields (music, acting ect), you will have to work like a slave if you want to make money. If you wanna start your own business you will most likely have to work like a slave and have some luck. Other ways to make it are through school, law school, engineering, med school all those field will make you earn money, but you will have to sacrifice a lot.
You can also go to college learn a trade and do a decent living.
The cold truth is most people are made to be average. That's just how it is.It might sound depressing but it's the truth.

Can confirm, I barely made it past 33 after a breakup with my then fianc, it was a dark time. The following year was also a tough year until I went travelling for months and changed my perspective. Things started getting better when I accepted society, women and the pointlessness of life for what it is. Nowadays, I really focus on living in the present, realizing I'm free to do whatever I want, society doesn't dictate my life and then I actually act on it instead of feeling sorry for myself.

- Knowledge really is power, read some good books
- Stay healthy
- Don't let fear pin you down, if you want to change, do it.
