I work with a guy who's 30 and has a 14 year old son. That chit is just bonkers. In a lot of ways I feel like I just got out of HS and this "dad" (who is only a year older than me) has a kid that is going into the 8th grade

When you live in bum phuck middle of nowhere with nothing to do and everyone around you is content with laying down and rotting, your only aspirations will mimic the people you live around. In the case of New Mexicans, its drink yourelf into a stupor and phuck excessively.

You can do it. Just take that first step, making the change isn't easy but it will be worth it.

If your so happy with your life why even respond to these threads. Just because things have been easy for you doesn't mean they are easy for everybody.

In a lot of ways, I wish I was kinda simple minded. Now i'm not saying i'm smart by any stretch of the imagination, but when I'm at work I listen to my co-workers talking about sporting events they're watching or reality TV or the new worthless chit they're going to buy with such passion and excitement. I can't think of a single item (that if it came into my life right now) would make me feel as happy or excited as these guys feel.

-TV is more or less garbage only a small handfull of shows hold my interest for longer than a season or two. and even if a show is legitimately good, I don't have much time to sit and enjoy it anyway (same for video games).

-movies are the same way. I feel like Iwantto like them but i'm always let down.

-buying a house or a car, and all I worry about are the tacked on bills and inevitable headaches due to maintenance when chit breaks down at the worst possible moment.

-building a computer would be nice if it didn't become obsolete before the parts even arrive in the mail.

-can't even go on vacation and relax because all I think about is the chit I gotta get caught up on when I get back...or hell having to deal with the inevitable fact that I have to go back. Those last day leading up to the end of a long break (that moment when you have to come back to reality) are more depressing than never going on vacation at all.

-I guess I could save up money and buy some cool toys (ATV/bike/miscellaneous sporting gear) but then I have to worry about people stealing my chit so I gotta buy home security (another monthly bill), and in the end all that chit does it take up space and become clutter, which means I gotta buy a bigger house....which is a hassle all on its own and more bills taxes to worry about....and the cycle repeats over and over and it never ends.

"hustle" typically implies shady/illegal methods of making money. I'm black so I already have a target on my back for that kind of activity.

This guy went from bottom of the barrel, drug addict, nobody to a self made multimillionare ($200+ million net worth). He had no connections, no wealthy parents, no inherited money, nothing.

This probably won't be you, but he has some solid advice: if you want to be successful and reach your goals, you must take responsibility for every facet of your life. If you got a flat tire on the way to a job interview and were late; it was your fault, for not having a spare, or for not leaving even earlier, or for not having other options laid out etc etc. I doubt some of you guys are taking responsibility to that extreme, or working that hard to get to where you want to be.

If you were honest with yourselves, instead of playing victim, you'd probably be happier. Not everybody can be CEO 10K/day, there has to be some staff workers. Look on the bright side, at least you aren't starving, or on the wrong side of a war, or being kidnapped or extorted or something.

sorry dude but you are very wrong here. in my field (software/technology sales), the average annual salary of a fully ramped-up Enterprise Account Executive is anywhere between $150k-$300k annually, based on the company. You make more moving into management. It is very achievable if you plan three steps ahead where you want to be. I just turned 25, I made $81k last year before taxes. Expecting to be right around $200k by age 30 like the guy you replied to mentioned.

My old manager recently left the company to become director of worldwide sales at another firm, basically told me if I leave here he had a $140k/yr role waiting for me whenever. So connections are important as well.

I moved to california with 2500 bucks and no idea how i was gonna make it work. my degree is in finance and i could not get any other position other than sales in a cubicle wearing a suit and tie.Thatwould have made me suicidal. I decided to try to start a new training business out here, (after i had been fired from my shi tty first training job at a corporate gym in texas) and ive loved every second of it.

I live in newport coast and train in a small high end gym with some of wealthiest clientele in the world. I also own a gym in a nearby city (normal people not ultra wealthy) where i have 3 trainers working for me training about 100 hours a week total that i get a piece of. There is another trainer with his own clientele that pays me rent. Also have some income coming from online writing for a supplement company and competition prep training, about 1200-1800 a month. I work physically 30-35 hours a week, the rest is passive income.

Avg income comes to about 10k/month after taxes, sometimes much higher.

Find out what your passion is and pursue it. Its the only thing you will be able to pursue with 100% enthusiasm and wont even feel like work. Some questions to ask yourself to figure out your real passion- find the common link between them

1- At the age of 12 what did you want to be when you grew up?
2- What do you spend most of your free time doing?
3- What do your friends and family come to you to advice about?
4- what do you spend most of your time talking/ reading about?

stop looking at what you don't have you fuucking ungrateful clowns. you all have health, knowledge, and youth on your side. now map out a plan to get to where you want to be,be fuucking patientand start working now towards them.

That's why you HAVE to pursue a profession you enjoy. At the very least. Ideally you love it however.
