So my friend who lives and works in the Bay Area was going to come to Las Vegas with my wife and I, and another of our couple friends, with his wife next month.


Well we are going on a short weekend trip thurs-sun. Last night we were all on Xbox playing some Destiny talking about booking our hotel and his wife asked how much. Being the weekend obv hotels are more expensive. He tells her what he finds. He proceeds to go on mute and afk for a while.

Comes back to say he has to go.


Texts me and the other guy shortly after saying his wife is raging saying that ALL his purchases have to go through her from now on and she must approve everything they spend and obviously no Vegas for them.


NOTE: He makes the money working for a giant software company in SF so WHAT. THE. FUK

The hotels are pretty cheap in Vegas compared to other areas as they make their money from gambling and partying. But wtf did she think the chit was free or something?

I am married as are most of my friends and I don't know a single guy that would put up with it. Now I understand someone "managing finaces" to the extent of that is the person who makes sure the bills get paid monthly, and keeps a rough budget idea, etc. But to straight up have to get permission to spend money you are earning and worry about buying things because your partner will get mad? That is no way to live. There is no incentive to earn money if you can't enjoy it. Would rather lay down and wither.

Idk tfw gf or wife but it blows my mind that things like this happen and men around the world are just OK with it. Allowance is for kids not grown ass men, what the fuk man. I don't think it's a big deal as long as he doesn't spend outside his means. I bet she doesn't have an issue with it if he spends a boatload on her but it's a big problem of he spends it on himself?
