Obama keeps saying 'weapons of war don't belong on our streets,' in reference to what he calls 'assault rifles' ie which are simply nothing more than semi-auto rifles with high capacity mags.
The second amendment protects exactly that, Mr Obama and supporters.

The second amendment is not about hunting, sport shooting, target practice, or even about household security - although those certainly are nice additional benefits to it.
" A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. "
The purpose of the second amendment, as the founding fathers intended it, is clearly to protect the right of the people to keep and bear firearms of the type that are most worthy for a common infantryman on a typical battlefield. On today's battlefields, the AR-15 and AK-47 and other semi-auto rifles of the same class are the world's most common types, and anything far less than those is not adequate.
Obama and his shills keep saying that 'weapons of war don't belong on our streets.'
Sorry Obama, but the second amendment protects exactly that.
The second amendment does not come without costs however. There will be crimes committed by people using firearms. We accept those costs. The grand benefits of the second will always outweigh those costs.

It protects the right of the people(individuals) to keep and bear arms capable of battlefield service for a militia individual at any time. A musket is not a militia man's arm today nor is it worthy of battlefield service against opponent militia men armed with the common arms of today. AR's and AK's and the like are.

That being said, I love guns, just wish they were much much more complicated to obtain and I don't mean fees and licensing, I mean complex background and personality tests

Violent Crime has also been on a fair downward trend for the past 5 years.
Any Liberals who argue they just want some gun control are complete liars. The party is almost unanimously against even semi-auto rifles in the hands of citizens. And will eventually aim to remove them. Then once they realize more people are dying to pistols, they will go for them next.
If you want gun control, how about stop making these stupid gun free zones where all the mass murders are taking place. Your laws just stop the innocent from carrying.

What's funny is the Americans believe something that was written into their constitution back in 1789 somehow has relevance in todays society. Right to bear arms, sure. That was written in to help you protect yourselves from the Brittish invaders. Your gun crime and mass shootings are completely bonkers to every other civilised society. When you do have mass shootings, your gun sales go up!! What in the actual fuk. It's hard to admit that something that is the fabric of your society is actually doing you more harm than good. I can see that it would be very hard to admit that you are getting it wrong etc. But, from the outside looking in, America has massive, massive issues in addressing this problem. People that are pro-guns can't sit back and look at this issue objectively and see you have massive faults in how you sell guns to your citizens. How easy it is for people to buy deadly weapons. Before you can fix a problem, you have to admit you have one. Not a lot of people around here who would say you do. Madness.

The number of 2016 mass shootings/active shooter instances in the US alone:http://massshootingtracker.org/data
Facts.
Please feel free to check them as you like.
Guns are dangerous. No, it's been proven they do not help as people suspect with defense (see above)
ARs have no use aside from being 'fun to shoot'. They are not practical from a defense standpoint.
I'm well aware the pro-gunners crew loves straw man arguments, ad hoc fallacies, hasty generalizations, arguments from ignorance and red herrings - these are fallacious, and yes I call them out as I see them. No, I don't even bother to address them.
It seems that the average citizen is blind to the issue of firearm violence, morbidity and mortality we have in this country. Anyone in the medical profession can attest to the fact.
Making statements without support by reputable sources = fallacious.
Lastly, almost every non-American pretty much has the opposite stance: they are dangerous, and unnecessary - and thus, gun control should be implemented.
And let's be honest... Gun control does in no way mean that anyone is taking your guns away... It implements policies on those purchasing guns from here on out. If you are a law-abiding citizen, there should be absolutely no changes for you even with gun control.
US murder rate per capita rank is somewhere in the 100's, if you took out the gang violence we have in a handful of inner-cities, it drops to lows of countries that have no guns. but of course, liberals like yourself can't be bothered to look up facts. just going off your emotions and feelings, as always. pathetic.

Countries or states that have mass poverty where people are allowed guns = recipe for disaster.
Even in the scummiest parts of england id feel a lot safer knowing these kids on the street are far less likely to own a gun

So in short, I have no idea wtf you're talking about.

I really enjoy the non-american living miscers getting in on the conversation. They lose the arguments, then proceed to call all Americans idiots/trump supporting rednecks. We really don't care what you have to say about us. And your immediate choice of ad hominem attacks prove your opinions are worthless.

Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

I'll try to look at this objectively... If I'm lucky I imagine I'll never need a gun for the rest of my life. I doubt I'd ever be mugged at knife point and I don't think I'll ever experience a home invasion, but let's say that either of those things did happen, and let's say someone close to me, or even myself got seriously injured, I imagine I would have liked to have a gun at that moment.
Following that train of thought I can see why people would want guns for their own safety. But what you gun enthusiasts have to understand it's an alien and foreign concept to anyone who has never had, or ever needed a gun. We look at guns and we think... Why? Like seriously, why? In a world full of idiots do I really want them all to be able to buy them just incase the really unlikely scenario that I myself need a gun ever arises? No I don't. But like I said I can see where the argument comes from.
But then you have this other sort of "argument" for guns, and it stems from something deeper than the logical need to protect yourself... it's almost this blind sentimental need to own one for abstract reasons with no foundation in reality. You see people saying "We need guns incase the government turn on us, or we get invaded", I mean is this **** for real? As if this scenario is ever going to happen? You may as well say we need guns for when the aliens visit. Then you also have this "Beta don't like guns, liberal this, cucks that", as if there is some need to have a gun or you aren't a man. I mean ****, if you think you need a gun to be a man then you've got some issues. Then there's the whole "Second amendment" argument, which to me is the most ****ing retarded of the lot, as if just because it's in writing from a different time and a vastly different era we should never question it. If we all just blindly believed **** that was written hundreds of years ago then we'd still be stuck worshipping the seven commandments like dumb ass zealots.
I guess the real problem here is that guns are so ingrained in your culture, that making them harder to access will only hinder honest citizens and the occasionally nutcase, whilst criminals who get guns illegally are unaffected. Which really just means to me that you're kinda ****ed. Still, if I was an American gun supporter, I'd still be in support of at least making it hard enough to those mentally unstable kids, or weird ****ing religious nutters aren't able to get their hands on it. If I had to suffer a bureaucratic process of several weeks in order to get my hands on a gun, then what's the big deal? Either it lowers gun crime and then we're all happy, or it does nothing and so what... you're put out a few weeks. I know you fellas probably don't want this cause you consider it a progression towards outright banning guns, but I dunno... isn't anything that lowers gun crime good for gun owners?
