Power pistol, 231, and bullseye are all great options. I'd say buy whichever one you can get for the cheapest price. I've settled on Bullseye and have no complaints

My sleeper pick goes to ramshot silhouette. My FFL guy swears by it for his 40short&weak and he uses it for uspsa. It is also a ball powder which is nice for metering. I have been 10/10 satisfied with all the ramshot powders that I have used to date.

I basically just pointed out that you too are not confident enough in his odds. Then you got defensive of that enough to straw man it. Then you started to argue what "being a bitch" is, something completely subjective. I don't think that you understand what is objective and what is subjective.

Anyone have experience with the Bushnell AR-223 with the Illuminated Reticle? I like the idea of the quick throw lever. PSA has a pretty attractive price on it.

I'd ask in the reloading thread, but I already skimmed through it and the thread seems dead...

Another reloading question:

About how many rounds of 124gr 9mm will 1lb of powder load?

If it's dependent upon the model/brand of powder, then how much will Alliant Bullseye load and how much will the Winchester 231 load?

I would try to buy local to avoid that hazmat fee if you can

Glass actually isnt that bad but it's heavy as fuk. Be patient and get what you want. Don't settle for tier 3

7000 grains in a pound. If you are loading at 5 grains per cartridge that's 1400 rounds not accounting for spillage. Once you find a powder you like then just buy an 8lb jug and never look back

I bought a bushnell cheapie TRS-25 as a first red dot to try out... it did not survive the 1 day of inclement weather in the Lazy Vickers class.

I know you weren't asking about that optic specifically, but just to support the above notion.

There are 7,000 grains in one pound. If you look up load data real quick you'll see something in the genera area of about 7 grains per round for 9mm (it's less, 5.5-6.x IIRC, but you'll lose/waste some), so about 1k per pound, maybe more if you are good about not wasting powder

If the Strike Eagle were still in that sub-300 range.....I think that's the way to go. But the Burris MTAC's seem to have spiked in price as well. So all the sudden I'm looking at "value"

Especially since it's only going on a 900 dollar rifle

Anything else I should look at besides those three?

How is 181.29 shipped for 8lbs of Win 231? $29 of that is for shipping (haz)

I will probably just go with this then:

Primer: CCI #500
Projectile: Pretty much anything that is plated. Will try Eggleston's.
Powder: Win 231. If Eggleston's recommends a different powder for his bullets, I'll try that

I went to Dillon in Scottsdale a couple of weeks ago. One of the employees highlighted a bunch of stuff in a pamphlet for what I'll want to get. I'll go though all of that and then should be purchasing here in the next week or two.

I think I'm going to buy a good 10-15k rounds worth of primers and powder, but only a few thousand of projectiles to start with. My reasoning is that projectiles will be much easier to come by relatively to primers and powder.

So check this out.....just went to check weights, since that seems to be the only real knock I read about.....and it's exactly the same weight as the Strike Eagle

If I bought all of this:

15000 CCI #500: $477.7http://www.midwayusa.com/product/130...ol-primers-500

That would be a total of $1,332.78

Price per round would be $0.16

Pre 2016 panic (something like 1000 Speer Lawman shipped from sgammo) that would be about a $0.06 per round saving. So I'm saving about $60/1000 rounds with that load.

If all of my equipment costs me about $1000, then it will take 16666.66 reloaded rounds to break even on equipment costs. I shoot about 12-16k rounds of 9mm per year so that wouldn't take long.

If I can bring the price per round down to even just $0.14 then I'd be looking at $0.08 saving per round. Which means break even is just 12500 rounds.

So if you start with 0 reloading equipment (me) then it's about $2400 to be able to reload 5k rounds of 9mm and also have another 10k rounds of powder and primers left over... assuming you have the brass.
