Going by 2012, you win 100m and 200m races and that is all. There's many other events, even in running that you lose and lose big. People care about other sports and events besides 100m and 200m, sorry mon.

I mentioned earler that per capita applies for both good and bad things. Not sure how Americans normally understand this, but as soon as it applies to something that's not crime they lose all logic.

No one is saying your Olympic athletes aren't good, obviously they are, they are getting lots of medals. We are just saying its to be expected in a population so large (therefore answering ops question).

You could take this logic and apply it to almost any sport in the Olympics. Imagine a couple NBA bench players in volleyball or rowing, it wouldn't even be fair.
