How does a 13 year old muster up the "courage" to end his life, and what goes through his head? their brains arent as developed as ours so this kid must've gone through some serious chit, sad.

I got bullied in elementary and middle school because I was always the shortest kid and moved around every year or two. My mom just told me to crack the kid in the jaw, it was super effective tbh. Suicide never even crossed my mind, its really sad a kid at only 13 already felt that was his only option, he never even really got to experience life.

I remember being pretty self reliant at 13 and could hold my own.

Fuuuuuk being a teenager in this era. Life's already weird enough with changing schools, going through puberty, growing up etc.
Throw social media, smart phones and way too much internet on top of that and you get chit like this.
Brb online bullying
Brb tumblr full of fukked up ppl suggesting fukked up things
Brb girls losing virginity and learning slooting tactics at 11
Brb self esteem issues amplified to fuk with your social media status
No thank you Jeffrey.

I remember getting bullied in middle school. I was a little chubby, with round glasses, wore basketball shorts all the time. Started growing facial hair at 13 and my mom wouldn't let me shave because I was too young. There were like two kids in school, one who used to be my former best friend, who would poke me in the back during class, and make fun of my patch of fuzz on my upper lip. Felt so horrible and was too big of a pussy to fight back, other than telling them to leave me alone. The one kid who used to be my former best friend would even call my house line and leave messages, my mom would be like "why is he calling you?" but I was too embarassed to explain. It's the worst feeling ever. Moved away after that year and started high school here in a different state, not related to bullying but gave me a fresh start. Both of them are fuking losers now. My kids will be in martials arts and sports, and I won't let that happen to them.
If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary

Maybe if we paid teachers more than fast food managers, they might actually care.

Too many parents these days only teach their kids 'tolerance and understanding', and nothing about sticking up for themselves.
In fact, they are taught not to do anything.
Bullying shouldn't happen, but it is what it is, and it happens to everyone at some point. How you deal with it sets how you act for the rest of your life.
Sad that the kid did it, I hope the bullies rot.

I wish his parents taught him how to handle certain situations and to stick up for himself. Had he been mentally tougher he would've pulled through. Looks like a kind hearted kid in the picture too, God bless his soul. I haven't been bullied seriously but have been called racist names as I was one of the only ethnic kids in my school, I lived in a country town. I had a lot of friends but even they would sometimes make racist jokes for fun. I just took it on the chin and would sometimes dish it back. I wish I stood up for myself more though. I remember one time at a Football match, some kid on the opposing team said something racist towards me, I was very close to hooking him but for some reason I didn't. My teammates heard it and we started pushing and shoving with the other team but never ended up punching on.

i doubt it was just bullying
most likely he also had no friends and probably sat by himself at lunch
introverted personality+high inhibition+poor parenting=this scenario

He was at summer camp a year ago and got bullied. So I taught him how to fight and practice on the heavy bag. Next time the kid bother him he punched the kid. Teacher called me and other kid's parents. I told the teacher I instructed my kid to punch the kid if he was bullied and that's what he did. Teacher agreed it was the other kid's fault and he was the one that got in trouble. No problems after that.

Nothing gets me more heated than seeing kids get bullied. This is heart breaking to hear.
I got picked on a lot when I was younger, I was a military brat living in the south. I was very introverted, lanky, didnt have anything in common with the crowd. I dressed different, and didnt have an accent so I got picked on a lot because of that (speaking proper english is looked down on). I got pushed around sometimes and wanted to fight back but my parents condoned fighting and I would get in trouble even if I didnt start it so all I can do was endure what was going on.
At 13 I cant imagine what could be going through a kids head to commit suicide.. Teachers dont do **** these days, hell they didnt when I was in school. Parents arent involved or anything.
I will have my son in some type of combat sport the moment he is able to.

Bullying is bad but it teaches a valuable life lesson, that people will be ****s and you need thick skin and to step up when someone disrespects you

I dont think people in this thread realise that in middle school everyone is immature. I was a bully in middle school along with a few other people and a lot of people do it because they want to fit in with a certain group or look cool. When I look back it right now I feel like a piece of dump everytime and regret it. I realise it's wrong and stupid but when I was in middle school I didn't care. All I wanted to be was cool

**** like this story is just sad though man. I was lucky and able to fend for myself and just physically strong (I did also have friends, it was just a group that always picked on me.) Don't know what would have happened if I was some shorter introvert kid. They just don't stand a chance.

I actually had to do grief counseling at a school after a 10 year old killed himself. It was the saddest thing I've had to do. You are supposed to be having a good time then not worrying about things bad enough to kill yourself.

I got bullied in school, I was one of those outsiders who didn't belong to the cool clique. Yes it sucked, some days were miserable to get through, but my parents kept me from immersing myself in it. Nowadays parents just throw computers, cellphones, tablets etc at their kids and say have fun! Meanwhile they are constantly involved in social media, they can't get away from their friends or bullies. No one takes responsibility for raising kids anymore, and we end up with kids who do not know how to cope or take care of themselves.
Back to my days in middle school, the biggest kid in the class used to bully me along with his smaller, cooler lackies. He was in my face one day spewing garbage as he usually would. I had enough and punched him as hard as I could, knocked him to the ground in an instant. His friends did nothing to help him, he cried, and we both ended up in detention. I was told fighting is not the answer, but good for me to stand up for myself. He never bothered me after that day.

I'm forever grateful to have been raised by my father and taught how to deal with bullies. I wonder if he was raised by a single mother?

Can you imagine having a child who went to school and got bullied and was miserable. My nephew starts JK this fall and the though of him ever being bullied really bothers me. Fuark boyos I gotta keep this kid tough and any future kids I may end up having. Really unfortunate that this type of thing happens.
I was chubby little chit back in the day and some older kids tried to bully me around. Fought back almost when it started so they backed off and went after easier prey. Kids are so fukkin cruel sometimes. Very grateful my parents raised me and my brothers to be tough.
