looks like everything is going well in here. I like it when there are a couple of slightly angry people in a heated debate about the practicalities of Google, cheap pistols, and optics. The fact that one of them is Farley just makes me a little more moist

For those that remember, I ended up getting the wifey the M&P Shield, 9mm. She loves it and is pretty damn good with it and getting better each time we hit the range. I am thinking about getting the same one, except a 45 instead of the 9mm.

So thanks to all the MFC brahs that recommended that one. She must have fired about 20 different guns before she decided on the M&P, but I wouldnt have thought of it if it wasn't for this thread

Just get the 9mm. More capacity, quicker shots, less expensive ammo, ammo and mag compatibility with the one you already have

Nah, Farley is right. I will probably end up getting another 9mm. That way if something were to happen to the other one, she could carry mine until it was fixed and be comfortable with it. Plus the ammo is cheaper and that shyt still gets expensive with as much shooting as she has been doing lately.

Interdasting discussion on the pistol optics. Will have to ask cop buddy if he has ever had issues or shot it in the rain. I have just played with it a couple times, seemed cool but had no knowledge of reliability or anything.

Pretty sure I mentioned it before, but normally I would take what cops say regarding firearms with a grain of salt since they are notoriously poorly trained (not the individual's fault), but him and the other dudes on his team take it upon themselves and seek training from all the big names across the country. Not sure if they bring personal weapons or their duty weapons but I'll have to ask how his optic held up in those courses too if he can take it.

They work fine in the rain. I've shot several in the rain and we've dropped god only knows how many in CNC coolant in the machines when fitting them to the slide... Still worked fine.
All the people I've seen complain about RMR's in the rain are the morons that don't run them with the sealing plate Trijicon offers like you're supposed to. The rest have sealed battery compartments and are waterproof to like 50+ feet.

Maybe Farley dives with his - I don't know...oh wait, he has zero experience with one.
