This started a panic sell unfortunately. The good news is none of the ETH was stolen and the developers are leaving it up to the community on whether to change the code to prevent the thief from cashing out.

I don't think the price of ETH will go any cheaper then what it is now (~$14.50), it could be a good time to buy if you missed out.

This is still a long hold and I don't recommend brahs try day trading it

Lots of good news coming out I hope it stays on its upward trend.

Only thing I am worried about is what will happen with all the unlocked ETH coming out of the DAO after the fork, whether it will get dumped on the markets or not...

price slowly creeping up after hardfork instead of tanking + ETH now added to coinbase to buy with USD directly which is very very good

fuarrk eth cant catch a break

now the original unforked chain is picking up steam and people are trading it, price is already 200%+

everyone who had eth before the fork also has the same amount in ETC (eth classic)

did you guys keep your eth on the exchanges or on your own pc? if its an exchange the have already probably done the split for you so you can trade it. pc wallet is a bit harder to get your eth classic but there are tutorials.

free money either way

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/

if anymore brahs want to get in now, you can buy it directly on coinbase without needing BTC first:

Some of the new dapps coming out on ethereum are amazing tbh

I hope the sportsbetting one takes off. Low fees, automated, and no 3rd parties.

ETH was hovering around $10.00-12.00 when this thread started. It's in asymmetrical triangle pattern so I wouldn't expect anything to happen for a bit.

a lot of artificial events have been keeping it down (doa hack + eth classic pumping). it peaked at $20 and i can see it getting back there quickly.

Just opened and verified a Coinbase account, thinking about putting a grand or two in this

Should you wait to cash in until the next halving?

For those of you thinking of investing into ethereum read up on the whole controversy about ETH and ETC (ethereum classic). I am interested in investing, but it looks sketchy.

Read this article, it is long but interesting, regarding some shady stuff going on with the Ethereum developers and the "illegal" (code is law) hardfork:Ethereum: Chain of liars & thieves.

Look into ethereum classic as well.

Don't know how to embed, but read this, it is in the above link as well, but further down the page in the comments section:https://d262ilb51hltx0.cloudfront.ne...wgVrYiieaQ.png

for the doubters of chart reading. posted that Aug. 10. it's been in this pattern since mid-March. don't see it hitting .03 BTC for a long while

eth classic has no future, nobody is developing for it

i find it hard to believe that official ethereum will ever suggest another fork to bail out a badly coded dapp. thedao was an extreme case with funds going towards development stolen which would have stunted its progress.

anyways it has finally started to go up because of devcon2 hype + digixdao hype + firstblood hype
