Anyone else mindblown at how badly their friends let themselves go after college?

People's priorities change, depression kicks in, drinking to forget you're in the situation you're in, etc.
That accounts for probably 80% of people after college and they get their "career." That's why they do what they do.

in my mid 20's now with a stable career, i find the urge to go home, drink beer and play video games starts to compete with the urge to go to the gym and eat a healthy dinner.
definitely see how it can affect people with weaker minds or people prone to addiction/bad habits/etc.
these threads are a good reality check lol

i occasionally gain 10 lbs of fat from beer and bratwurst and then my pants stop fitting and i lose the 10lbs. mind blown that people would just keep buying larger clothes
my gal has a friend who just got a gastric bypass and i asked what her previous diet was like and it was just insane. so much obvious chit she could have just cut out.

IDK but sometimes I think it was a blessing to not be in good shape in high school.
All my friends that were shredded athletes back then let themselves go in college and look like **** now.
Meanwhile I looked like **** in high school and I'm still in the best shape of my life at almost 27.

Honestly it seems all my friends who were athletes have let themselves go to chit more than anybody. Maybe they're used to eating for a lean bulking amount for sports as active teens in hs & the decrease in exercise plus years of drinking in the frat/blue collar life with similar eating habits turns them into blobs.

It's disheartening knowing it will take maybe 18 months just to get back to where you already where especially if you only looked slightly above average before - so people just let it get worse because they give up before they start. Or they start and give up in a week because what's the point putting all that work in for something you already had. It's like playing Mario and your game crashes and you have to go back to your save from 4 hours ago when you started playing that day - you're not gonna want to play that 4 hours again
