Legit fckin lol.

If you're going to invite a girl anywhere with the intention of sleeping with/possibly wanting a relationship with her you need to extend the first Olive branch. It sets up your place as a self confident alpha, who has more than enough resources to take a girl out to a measly dinner or drinks.

If not honestly your feeding the liberal BS feminism machine creating the monster that we have today. And our 18 year old males need "safe spaces" because words hurt. WTF is this cuck ****

Edit: That being said if ur intention is to keep things strictly platonic. (IE: Male friends, girls you dont want a relationship/sex with, etc...) Then sure splitting the tab is something that should be self implied (unless your telling them to go to a $200/plate restaurant cuz ur some gangsta pimp. Then not paying is just trashy.

I am in the same boat with females. The person inviting should pay--within reason/situation--therefore I am usually paying for the first date because I will be the first person to ask. However, legitimate offers for the bill is a positive, and if after the second date there's no reciprocation then unless she's somehow extremely hot and I am out of my league looks wise I will basically just be paying for sex; otherwise N/C. I definitely don't do the cliche "first date $200+ fancy restaurant first date" cringe people seem to do every time. I prefer first dates to be like lunches/coffees, meeting up for like a walk so you can actually talk and move around etc. Then usually an invitation to your home where you will cook, and yeah you know the drill.

Agreed 100%
There is another rule that I keep. If a friend from out of town is in MY NECK OF THE WOODS then it is always my tab. Its a common courtesy for me to let my visiting friends/acquaintences/business partners/colleagues come and not stress about the little stuff. Because if you think about it, more than likely I am choosing the resturant or bar (since its my back yard).

With my really close friends, we dont even flinch at the tab. Thats how I know where I stand. If a $200 bar tab hits the table and someone picks it up other than me, I dont even act like I want to chip in (for my closest friends) and I know they wont judge me for it because they know I have paid it forward many times over. Its really nice to not have to be concerned with those sorts of things.

These are things you learn once you become an "Adult" I believe.

I understand the broke 18-22 year olds if u have no job/ just trying to finish school. But after that "phase" if you are a self sufficient adult and are having to discuss spending an extra $20-30 on your friends or even more so a GIRL your trying to bang, that is embarrassing.

I lol when women use this reasoning

Primarily because they never ever ask men out so of course they never pay. It's just another way of saying "men should pay because they have a penis"

Agreed

Think about it like this. If you are asking, then you are more than likely in control of where you go and what you do. If you dont want the woman to "play you" and use you for your money, then choose something that doesnt cost anything or very little. Problem solved.

There is a lot to be said about someones character when money is involved. Too often have I seen this scenario play out:

When spending your own money some people are frugal. But when its someone elses' money they "make it rain"
See that a lot in corporate world. Go to dinner on own dime, buy McDonalds. Go to dinner on corporate dime, "i'll have the center cut filet and your nicest bottle of red"

That is a terrible trait.

THIS.

If after a few dates she didn't at least offer to pay or split the bill (which I would turn down anyways) she's either

I've only split the bill once on a date and that's cause she insisted on paying for something. I also loved her company and knew she was a keeper.

Usually though I just pay straight up cause where I'm taking you, its gonna be a reasonable tab at the end of the date.

One girl I smashed said aww you're paying for all our drinks? You don't have to do that."

Told her yeah your dad would be pissed if he knew you're going home with a dude who doesn't pick up the tab"

this, thankfully my romance days between 18-22 involved getting drunk at a frat house or college bar for $1, so no serious dates. went to the movies a couple times, paid for it, but back then it was like $10 for both.

today, as an adult, i would die of embarassment if a woman paid for me, no chauvinist. i don't care what your excuse is, an idea of a date is to woo/romance a girl, and that involves promoting the "i gochu" image.
now, if you're looking to smash and dash, then by all means. but if you want the girl to take you seriously, you pay.

I haven't had a 20 dollar date since 1998. I went out on a first date last night, dinner and drinks came to 120 with tip and then 20 bucks for parking garage. I guess it also depends where you live because even 1 mixed drink each is gonna run you 25 bucks just for the first round.

I havent asked out 500 women. I was never the type to go to bars and ask people out and play the numbers game. Most of the time it was a mutual friend or a friend of a friend in which we already hung out in a group and I go to know the person without bearing the burden of paying for them. ONce I got to know their character and wanted to learn more I asked them out or they asked me out but yes, the numbers were greater that I asked out.

I am a good steward of my TIME (forget money). Would seem very random to try to get to know a complete stranger with zero context. Thats like trying to sell a solution you have built to random people for which you know nothing about. Typically doesnt work out well and is a waste of time.

If you are just looking to slay, skip the date all together and just get on tinder or hire a prostitute. You waste less TIME this way and the old saying is true....time is money.

Easy way around this that is less awkward than splitting a tab. Tell her I got this and you can pick up dessert/coffe/drinks at the next bar.

Bro... I took my GF out last weekend. And we did NOTHING special. Went to a regular bar then dinner at a nice authentic Thai restaurant and back to the bar for another round and thats it. ~$200 night

Bar Trip 1: $65
Dinner: $45
Bar trip 2: $65 (Gf wanted to pay and gave me $40 so I accepted her cash but tab was a little more)
Blow: $40
Parking: $3

A first date is never an expensive event for me so I always pay. I put a lot of stock into how she reacts when I pay though. If she doesn't offer or doesn't say thank you it says a lot about her. I'll start asking her to split if I like her but she isn't offering on subsequent dates.

I had one girl who reached across the table, grabbed the check, and refused to let me pay. We got into a play fight and she was shoving my money back in my pants. That's a true keeper. I shouldn't have let her go.

Wow, by some of the comments in this thread it's easy to see why some are in the 4everalones category. Likely same bros who post about troubles in dating and such. There's some cheap, sad SOBs in this thread. If a chick offers to go dutch or buy, I'll accept depending on my mood and how it went. Otherwise, I'll throw a card down and get on with my life and no farks given that day.
