Putting in a quick 8 hours and then shooting this afternoon. Going to run some 00 Buck through the 870 at a few pumpkins and try out the Savage.

FYI, FL based MFC members or anyone who's been thinking of visiting, the annual Muster is next week. 10k+ people come in to see it and supposed to be a good time for all. Better yet, WWII/Korea/Nam sections are being renovated right now and will be open by then. Muster dates below. Not sure where I am stationed for the big shindig, but I'll be around

Seems like most of the people I know who really want a SCAR and end up buying one . . . don't have it after all that long. If it's something you really want and you have the cash, then go for it. But I'm a big believer in getting exactly what you want when you make big purchases . . . otherwise you'll wish you had down the road if you don't.

On the flip side, you can buy a lot of ammo and other cool toys with that amount of money.

From what I've seen, buying a SCAR is like buying a boat. Happy when you buy it, happier when you sell it.

Gunna be honest, I'm building the aero M5 because I think it will do everything the 17S does for half the price so then I can cash in on selling my 17s. .308 needs a long barrel so I'm not planning on SBR, I'm not planning on shooting .308 enough for the increased reliability/durability of the SCAR to matter... it's an awesome gun but it's also a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere.

Never would sell the 16S though, fuking love that gun in it's SBR/suppressed form. If you aren't SBR/suppressing it's got the same problem the 17S has: AR's are comparatively cheap and will do the job most of us require.

Morning MFC, about to head out to the shop for a while. I got ahold of a large walnut slab and I've been working on turning it into a bar top for the cut out between two rooms in my house. Finally going to start applying finish to it today.

Been looking joocy in the DIY thread . . . eager to see the finished product. I bought a Kreg jig the other day. No idea what I'm going to do with it, but it seemed like something I should have needed. LOL.

This morning, I need to rake up a bunch of leaves and blow out the sprinklers for the winter.

I've finally gotten the epoxy work done on it. I rarely have time to work on it during the week so progress has slowed quite a bit. I'm using Waterlox for the finish and it can only be applied once every 24 hours. Hoping since the application wont take long I can run out to the shop at night and put a coat on during the week since I plan on applying at least 6 coats.

Those Kreg jigs are worth their weight in gold man. I wore the first one I had out building my cabinets and immediately bought another one. Since I'm done with the cabinets I haven't needed to use it much but it's still worth the spot in my toolbox.

Nice, I've been looking at the Viper 1-4 when I eventually buy one. It should server my purpose shooting up to 100 yards mostly.
