It's fukking mind boggling how some of you people act like this is such a hassle to your super important lives. If the father was asking for everyone to join in singing happy birthday, or sing Christmas ****in carols with his kid then yea, I could easily understand that is a pain in the ass.

The father gave a piece of candy to people....the kid walked by, and the person puts that piece of candy in a basket. It takes three seconds from start to finish to even do this. You don't even need to look away from your Ipod or Laptop in order to do so.

The negative attitude about this is just another reason why society today is going down the chithole. You're saying its selfish and inconsiderate of the father? How about how selfish it is that you can't spare 3 seconds to just cheer up a three year old kid.

Taking a couple seconds out of your day to just be kind to another person is not a lot to ask.

so who made you the expert on what I can reasonably consider a "hassle" or not? srs can you even quantify for everyone else like some sort of authority? or maybe it would be easier to leave people the fuk alone in situations where they are typically left the fuk alone?

No one prevent other parents from doing anything for their kids. Father was just trying to do something nice for his kid. Halloween may seem like a stupid day to you, but its something kids look forward to.

No different than Halloween on a normal night with kids coming to your door. Not a lot of parents would go through the effort to let their kids do this, and I'm sure very few parents would actually book flights on a holiday unless an emergency called for it.

And I get that. Forcing someone to participate is one thing. I would agree that's not right. The father asked politely, and he respected people that declined the offer.

except for the fact that Halloween trick or treating in neighborhoods, house-to-house is a well established tradition. bombarding every single passenger surrounding you on a flight is not. there is good reason few parents would do this for their kid. 1) its inappropriate 2) they aren't self absorbed 3) they are considerate

if its my birthday and im flying I should bring a cake and have the stewardess bring it out to me and ask other people to sing me happy birthday? maybe the guy in 12C could take the pictures while the lady in 14A can pass out the napkins?
