Ghetto cities to explore on google maps (145k reps)

Suhhh dudes,

Repping good suggestions of areas to explore on google maps street view. I've a peculiar fascination with ghetto ass rundown backwater US towns. Currently running amuck in Holly Springs, Mississippi from the comfort of my office.

Any IRL experiences with driving through/living in undesirable locations are also welcome.

Mound Bayou, MS if you want ghetto. The reason is it's 99% black, backwoods, right off small highway in the Delta region of MS. It's probably about an hour from Holly Springs if I had to guess.

In eastern europe gypsies make money by either crime, beatboxing and rapping or begging (crying, faking injuries) with a little moneycup

I don't have the location written down anymore, if you google around you could find it...

But basically look at the places where they filmed The Wire.
The train tracks were the worst of it.

I shot a music video for a guy from the netherlands and so we went to some of those wire locations to film him rapping. At those train tracks there are buildings that don't even have a roof. totally dilapidated. And then little kids playing basketball right next door.

it's awful.

I love looking at these places on google earth. they are fasacinating.

What really is odd is the ones in america. You have to assume that the government is paying the rent so if thats the case, why choose to like in a ghetto?

I could understand that not everyone accepts section 8 and the like but many places do outside the slums. So makes me think that these people choose to live there.
