GF just left buddy after 5 years, is this real life?

*Around 25 years on both
*Friend and GF been together 5 years+
*The have an apartment together and thinking of buying a house
*They have been talking about getting kids lately

*GF goes to South Africa as an exchange student for 6 months.
*Acts weird when she comes home
*Admits she got feeling for another guy down there (she meet him last month there)
*Breaks up, 5 years for nothing

*Girls comes from a 100% pure swedish conservative/churchills home.
*He is planning to come and visit her.
*They had sex already (obviously) without protection lel


Should we let our girlfriends go outside the door or chain them?

I've seen multiple friends have this experience.....their longtime gf is pushing them to have kids, or buy a house, or some other serious commitment......and then suddenly dumps them a week later.

How can girls want kids with a guy one minute, then break up with him the next?

He should have broken up with her when she went the exchange student route...Srs. I know people want to hang onto relationships, but the chances of her not catching feelings/hooking up were slim to none (male or female). Down there with a bunch of Rugby playing chads with accents and chit, after weeks/months of physical contact? It was bound to happen.

INB4 she calls him and says she loves him, made a mistake, and he takes her back.

This will 100% happen. People in general around her age have no idea what they want. They go get this feeling that reminds them of their whole honeymoon phase with their original BF/GF, and they miss it. For some reason they think that phase is now sustainable with this person they just met. She will realize after a couple of months that the phase was just that, a phase, and she should have never jumped ship like that. Everyone misses that initial excitement, but people are too stupid to realize when they have something that is a good thing. It's the whole "grass is greener" scenario.

1 month is a lot different than 6 months.

It's possible to come out of that unscathed but it will depend on the girl.

Yep, she'll try and maintain contact, and SA Chad will have already moved onto the next exchange sl00t. She'll feel used, deceived and become depressed. She will then try and move back in on OP with extreme nicety...doing chit she stopped doing a long time ago, or has never done before (aka SA Chad taught her), and weasel her way back in.

The fact that she voluntarily left the country without her boyfriend for 6 months means her feelings were already fading. Must suck for the boyo though. I am in the same situation as him. 24 years old, been with gf for 5 years, lived together for 2 years. Difference is my gf would never even think of living in another country let alone another city as me. She even gave up university to stay with me (her grades werent good enough for the university where we live and I am already a student).
