What makes an ideal vacation destination? I've been to SE Asia, but India was a more impactful experience. It was admittedly a vacation that made me very grateful for what I have, rather than me longing to be back at some all-inclusive beach resort.

For a full fledged trip to India, it's a good idea to get yourself acclimated first. It's usually a good idea to visit Vancouver before actually heading to India just so you can understand the culture a little better.

Also important to make sure you're up to date on your vaccinations and have multiple prescription for anti-viral and anti-bacterial medicines to help your body fight the inevitable infections that result from flying in to an actual
petri dish.

I can confirm BC especially in Surrey is very Indian heavy but nothing like the actual place, lol. Cliffs: Indians everywhere, smells like curry and you get bert stared a lot by them.

EDIT: There are some nice parts of India too. I'd go to Sikkim in a heartbeat and go to darjeeling prior to climbing kangchenjunga SRS

My journey started in Delhi. I went to Punjab(the Golden Temple in Amritsar was really cool and I would recommend it), than went south to visit the bolded cities after that I went to Goa and Mumbai. It took me 5 weeks.
I had a great time, but I also was with 3 friends one of them was ethnically Indian and could communicate with the locals.

I really liked Jodhpur, Jaipur and Udaipur, since they were nowwhere as dense and overcrowded as Mumbai and Delhi, which hecame annoying pretty fast. So I would recommend those cities. Amber is also really close and quite beautiful.
You need to have a tolerance for dirty though and be able to get through some uncomfortable situations. Indian toilets for example tend to be in horrible shape.Goa, I really enjoyed. We went for the more relaxed Agonda beach and saw lots of animals like Sea stars, small eagles and even met a Dolphin while swimming.
We stayed at Beach Huts, which were super cheap and really close to the sea.
Spoiler!Now I am German so there might be a difference, but most of the stuff should apply here as well.

-everyone will stare at you when you are white. You have to stare back avoiding their gaze is considered impolite.
-Street merchants will try to rip you off, when you are white
-There are a couple of tourist traps like fake travel offices
-shoving in crowds and never staying in a queue is pretty common
-the less crowded a town is, the more friendly and less shady the people will be
-sometimes they are even too nice(for example they love taking selfies with white people at famous places and they will harass you like a celebrity especially if you got some muscle, are tall or blond)
-The only place, where we as white people experienced evil stares was the muslim quarter of Mumbai, where we mistakenly had booked roomsMost Idians know enough broken English to communicate, few are truly fluent.Overnight Buses are often cheaper, more comfortable -having sleeping places- and less crowded than trains.
Many cities are huge so you might have to take Tuk Tuk to get to the sights.
Many restaurents will serve raw onions as appetizer. Eat those. They desinfect your stomach and protect you from food poisoning, remove worms and stuff and make it easier to survive the not always superclean Indian cuisine.

When you are back to the US you will feel like a DYEL manlet after having towered over 5'6 100something lbs guys for weeks.

Just not the ones in india.. american indian now is a different story

basic english is probably widely spoken by people with basic education considering its actually their national language (or one of them I believe).

tbh I wouldn't go to India, its hot as **** in most parts, really dirty, smelly (not being racist, its because of poor hygiene which is a byproduct of poverty), corrupt, and scummy af. If I went I would just go to the mountain like areas in the north, but then again theirs separate dangers there (but its sorta like Nepal, environment can be dangerous tho and I have no clue about how locals respond to foreigners)



tbh I nevr got why the west is so obsessed with the Taj Mahal theirs much better similar buildings in South Asia and the Middle east and probably even North Africa.Eh I'd imagine Philippines isnt that much different from India, the only difference is whites are literally worshipped there and English speakers are more. Korea I'd definitely agree with though, place looks amazing to go to, Japan's probably better but that countrys in a weird place atm.

You'll get tonnes of rawness brah. 37,000 million litres of raw sewage flows into Indian rivers daily. You can add your own rawness when you're chitting out a lung because no one making your food washed their ass wiping hand.
