Depending on where you are, the weather/rural-ness can kill you. Helping people like that is just a thing they grow up with.

If you're raised in the rural west, you find it really strange in more urban east coast, west coast and city areas where people just ignore folks who are in need of help.

It's a different mentality out West. Just another reason I love the western states (Not including the west coast)

Nothing like driving down a dirt road out in the middle of nowhere, and waving at the dude driving by you in the opposite direction. It's like the jeep wave, but it's with everyone, and it's not because you own a jeep, it's because people in the rural west genuinely care about each other.
except this wasn't far west of Phoenix metro and it is on the busiest highway in the state that takes you to Los Angeles.

There was a recent video where the cops said don't interfere unless asked because you can actually just get in the way or his backup might be right there
