I took many other substances before and usually
I don't think alcohol but this weekend I did.
Well, alcohol is socially accepted and did with friends but holy fuark boyos I was throwing up 3x the next day and felt like **** that I just wanted to die

Mind blown that Alcohol is not banned and so easy to overdose
Had a few beers and shots, felt great until the comedown and throwing up tho

It is all about the person that uses it, but when you compare it to other drugs that are 'the most' illegal, it is weird to think about.

Because it is so embedded into many cultures. A lot of people would riot if it was banned.

I thought that when I stopped drinking I saw first hand what it did to my life and a lot of other peoples lives and yes it can be a horrible drug that can create a lot of issues for people

but just cause I suck and cant just go out and have a few to loosen up at the club why should we punish everyone else who can. it was my decision to be a dumbass and abuse a substance

There was a thing called Prohibition in the US. Some other countries have tried various forms of banning/restricting as well.



cliffs: it does not work. If fully banned, then a black market develops, or people just make it themselves because its not all that difficult.

I consider alcohol one of the top3 most dangerous drugs.

Many other substances that are illegal are way safer but harder to get

It's a poison and that's all it is.

It's legal though because it's a European cultural thing that stretches back before recorded history. People idolize it and on top of that many people have mastered how to use it without getting drunk or sick.

All the other drugs are no better it's just that they aren't part of the overall culture and people don't know how to use them.

Because it makes way too much profit. Same as with cigaretes. No real benefits except of feeling less stressed for an hour or so but proven to cause majority of diseases like cancers but still legal. Also no real acute damage, only long-term so why give a chit if it gives profit, right.

Actually, I think drugs tend to break down filters that are in place. Some good, some restricting, but most of these filters are in place to protect us from psychosis.

When I was in college, I briefly had a roommate for 3 week that at that same time suddenly got into all sorts of hallucinogens and taking ex. Virtually overnight, he went from nothing to doing chit 5-6 times a week, srs.

I moved to another place when I realized how toxic it was being around him. Ran into him a few times for a few months, could see he was doing the same stuff.

Then for a year I didn't run into him at all, and all of a sudden saw him on campus again (25k students). He looked like something was gnawing on him.

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw his eyes was "holy chit, this guy is HAUNTED." To my perception, it seemed like he'd carelessly opened the wrong doors on his psyche too many times, to the point that the doors didn't really close any more, and now all sorts of supernatural negative chit could get into his head and emotional space at will.

I believe we normally have various mental and emotional filters/doors/boundaries that keep us from being too affected by negative chit going on around us. Spend too much time in the wrong place, or be too careless around the wrong sorts of people and it can bring us down.
