It should show the effectiveness of American Special Forces and how they are amazing at what they do. This movie should get people on their nuts like Seal Team 6. If it's more about them riding on horses than kicking Taliban ass I'll be pissed.

And yeah. Starbucks already had plans to hire 10,000 vets from years ago. Quote is trying to make them sound anti-veteran or something. I used to like the Article 15 crew when they just made funny videos, not so much anymore.
Agreed completely, though I'm more concerned with them fabricating the entire movie like they did with American Sniper and Lone Survivor. The horse approach was real, but there should be more focus, like you said, on the effectiveness they had and particularly in the Battle of Qala-i-Jangi. I've seen the Qala-i-Jangi fortress in person.

Agreed on Art15 too.
Range day with the wife. She just picked up a FDE Glock 42 for her ccw.

[IMG]http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh62/hutch1999/ddm4/g19_zpsqsq3gaqm.jpg

Reasons for 42:
-size/weight
-recoil management of .380 vs 9mm

She's previously shot subcompact 9mm pistols with self defense ammo and immediately hated the recoil(specifically my Kahr 9mm loaded with speer gold dots). She put 75rds through the G42 and loved it. No issues with 3 types of ammo and no issues not putting rounds on center of mass.
I think the 42 is the best .380 out there.

Strong publicity stunt. Do they even have 1% of that number employed right now? (Doubt it). Also, Starbucks already pledged to hire 10k vets a few years ago over a five year period or something along those lines and last I heard they were ahead of schedule and had already employed close to their goal. None of this means I agree with Starbucks hiring 10k refugees and what little coffee I drink is made at home anyway.
Horse Soldiers was a great book, I'm sure they'll find a way to **** up the movie.

BRC is very good coffee, but they're a small shop. I don't know how they intend to hire 10k vets unless they're going to start up a chain of coffee shops. Right now they just sell coffee and merchandise, they don't have any coffee shops.

My faith in war movies was restored after Hacksaw Ridge, but I'm still gonna be skeptical. It's definitely one of the best GWOT stories out there that most people don't even know about which makes it that much more important that they do it right.

That's what I thought, they likely have less than 100 employees right now, how tf are they gonna employ 10,000, let alone ONLY vets. Just publicity.

I either need to start drinking less bourbon . . . or I need to find a more economical every-night brand. But quickly finding out that you definitely get what you pay for. Still have a few lower cost options to try, but so far none are even remotely on par with Bulleit or Larceny and are miles behind the Breckenridge that I like. But at about $60/1.75, I don't need to be drinking the Breckenridge regularly. Bulleit is more like $39 - $42 pretty regularly. That may end up being the middle ground if none of these others pan out to my taste.

There are a few things that I'll spend more on . . . like guns. But I'm kind of a middle-of-the-road spender on a lot of other things. Feel like spending too much on liquor is one of those places I'm more apt to save some $ on for me and save the good stuff for friends or periodic consumption.

There are some exceptions to this, but generally, with alcohol, you get what you pay for. For example, I thought JW Blue Label was garbage. Srs, not even worth 20% of what a bottle runs. I had to mix with 7up to finish the bottle (not wasting booze).
If you're mixing it with anything besides water, this all goes out the window.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

My friend that passed away about a month ago was trying to get into acting (he had some gigs lined up). Chris Hemsworth (he's going to be in that movie you mentioned) had called my buddy up to ask his help for "What it's like to be a Soldier in Afghanistan" type stuff, that was about a week before my friend passed.

For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

Even in semi-automatic mode, it is very simple to squeeze off two dozen rounds before you even know what has happened. If illegally modified to fully automatic mode, it doesn’t take any imagination to see dozens of bodies falling in front of your barrel.

All it takes is the will to do it.

Those Talon Grips are amazing. Love them on my Shield.

Exactly - following every mass shooting, they'd raise their prices to try to take advantage of the gun control hype. Free market people will say there's no such thing as gouging...but dancing on the graves of dead kids to increase your profits is pretty chitty for a retail company.

Funniest part is, their old retail system used to show percent changes in price from retail - good luck selling rifles to people and blatantly advertising that you doubled the ****ing price.
