Entire population can shuffle a deck of cards 1x a second and it will take 700 years to get far less than half of the possible variations. My mind was nuked when I read that but I bet someone said it already ITT

Hemoglobin displays cooperative binding to oxygen; this means after the first molecule of diatomic oxygen binds to the heme group of hemoglobin a small conformational change in the protein results in increased affinity for the binding of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th molecule of diatomic oxygen which may be carried by hemoglobin.

The conformational change is roughly a 1 degree movement of the heme group of hemoglobin. Without this ONE DEGREE change in protein conformation, hemoglobin would be unable to appropriately distribute oxygen to tissues in your body and YOU WOULDN'T EXIST.

Day = the time taken for a celestial body to complete one full rotation (on its axis)
Year = the time taken for a celestial body to complete one full rotation around its orbiting star

What aren't you getting? Venus rotates very, very slowly but revolves around the Sun much faster.

The wood frog OP mention is the only known animal (besides the micro creatures) that can survive being frozen completely. They have a natural anti-freeze in their blood that keeps it from expanding and forming icecicles. What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it.

Every square matrix satisfies its own characteristic polynomial. [Cayley Hamilton Theorem]

The power set of a set A has a strictly larger cardinality then A. This is not surprising for finite sets, but it suprising for the case of infinite sets. [Cantor's Theorem]

Interesting brain facts, favorite topic.

Chronic stress decreases your brain size.

You can not multi task, our brains are unable to do two tasks at same time and when people multi task, means they are switching between two task quickly.

Alfred Hitchcock sets were startling due to bizarre painting, he'd paint random objects bright lime green because they stood out better when filmed in black and white.
