Do you know any interesting knowledge about life, animals, universe, that would boggle the mind? Please share.

Something interesting I read was about the Wood Frog, the wood frogs stop breathing and their hearts stop beating entirely for days to weeks at a time. Now isn't that fascinating, that a Frog is able to die and come back to life?

Turritopsis dohrnii, or Turritopsis nutricula, is a small (5 millimeters (0.20 in)) species of jellyfish that uses transdifferentiation to replenish cells after sexual reproduction. This cycle can repeat indefinitely, potentially rendering it biologically immortal.

1 Day on Venus lasts 243 Earth Days (time it takes Venus to rotate on its axis)

This is longer than a year for Venus which is 225 Earth Days

The Tanzania honey bee fires out a small atomic laser beam to dislodge pollen from within a flower, it is the only living creature known to utilise a laser in nature, because of this they have been nicknamed the 'The Jedi Bee'.

Several experiments to amplify the power of the bees lasers have proven unsuccessful.

Although in 2009 a female queen fitted with a coil abductor (shown below) caused a small explosion (equivalent to one stick of dynamite) inside a nest and wiped out a whole colony. This experiment failed to be repeated and the project was abandoned.

North Korea are known to have an active breeding program of the Tanzanian bee in the hopes that they could harness the laser as a weapon, but reports state that they have failed to grow bees any larger than an average household dog thus rendering the weapon useless as the bees are too large to fly.

That's news to me. I only know of one creature that's immortal -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turritopsis_dohrnii

When sexually mature, they have been known to prey on other jellyfish species at a rapid pace. If a T. dohrnii jellyfish is exposed to environmental stress or physical assault, or is sick or old, it can revert to the polyp stage, forming a new polyp colony. It does this through the cell development process of transdifferentiation, which alters the differentiated state of the cells and transforms them into new types of cells.

We are technically still living in the age of dinosaurs! Birds are now known to be dinosaurs themselves (descended from feathered carnivores similar to Velociraptor), and in terms of species diversity there are about 10 000 living birds, the most of any terrestrial vertebrate group. In fact it is highly likely that dinosaurs are more diverse now than they have ever been.

I watched interesting debate about gender identity, scientist was claiming that mother's hormones during pregnancy can have an affect on if your child has gender identity issues and can also affect sexual preference.

National Geographic reports, "The tiny amphibians can survive for weeks with an incredible two-thirds of their body water completely frozen—to the point where they are essentially solid frogsicles. Even more incredible is the fact that the wood frogs stop breathing and their hearts stop beating entirely for days to weeks at a time. In fact, during its period of frozen winter hibernation, the frogs’ physical processes—from metabolic activity to waste production—grind to a near halt. What’s more, the frogs are likely to endure multiple freeze/thaw episodes over the course of a winter."
