Cary Fukunakga is involved so hopefully it won't be chit. He's the guy who did True Detective season 1.

edit chit, he left.

Original scared the fuk out of me as a kid. My dad loved showing me horror movies but would tell me they were something else:

I'd like to think they might have a decent remake for once but I don't want to jinx it.

You shouldn't have ruined the twist ending for yourself. The whole time you're wondering wtf the Clown is and chit. It's been prob 10 years since I seen IT, it manifest their fears to lure them in or some chit? I fukin forget. It eats people I think.

Anyways, here you go. The original creature.

The Clown is just a projection, if I am not mistaken. Or is it a shape shifter? I dont remember.

Also I remember in the books, to complete the ritual or some chit, all the boys bang some little girl. Like an orgy or some chit.

the clown is actually a spatial force (basically a hypnotizing beam of light) which is most often in the form of a spider. the clown is just to get "in" with kids and then in the book it shape shifts into whatever your deepest and most intense fear is. for example, eddie is afraid of illness and heard stories of leprosy so when he encounters It, it's in the form of a leper. for richie, he sees It as a werewolf a few days after all of the kids see a teenage werewolf movie. so it changes.

one of the kids in the group is a black male. his name is mike and he joins the group last. he is by far the most important male character in the story next to bill.

also for everyone that thinks I am kidding about the gangbang scene, nope it actually happens. look for It threads on goodreads, it's discussed there.

So where is the beam of light originating from? So the clown and the spider are projections or physical? Also what is its purpose? doesnt it want to eat them or some ****?

Something along the lines of powerful lifeforms.
There are the opposite of one another I think.
One is evil and one being good.

there's a chapter in the book that explains this but I'm a little fuzzy on the details. I know there is a bad force (It) and a good force (the turtle) that are at constant odds with each other in the universe. the clown and the spider are just physical manifestations of It. it feeds on fear to survive, but only on the fear of people who believe in it, which is why it kills kids and which is also why they can fight It as an adult...because they lived it.

it basically is just an evil force. again I believe the backstory is explained thoroughly in the book and iirc it has always existed since the dawn of time.

in the book It took a ton of different physical forms but in the first remake I believe it only took a few. also the first remake did a shiitty job of explaining the significance of mike and his back story and placed way too much emphasis on ben. hopefully they correct that. in the book, It transforms into a giant albatross and chases mike all around an abandoned field. it's a great chapter because it explains the relationship between mike and his dad and develops his character like everyone else instead of just being the outcast black kid in the group.

Probably the movie which scared me the most when I was a kid.

Not sure what I think about the remake though.

The actor Bill Skarsgard who plays IT wasn't very good in Hemlock Grove. He is the brother of Alexander Skarsgard the guy who just played Tarzan. Still looks good though.

I didn't like showering for 6 months after the original. I guess it was scarier than average as a kid because the adults couldn't even see it so it made it seem more possible as a kid. Even if It was in the room they'd say you're full of chit.

to the dude who asked if his novels take place in the same universe: yes, they do.

pennywise is referenced in the dark tower series a few times and in other books subtly as well.
