"An independent woman is a contradiction in terms. For woman's chief want is to feel that she is wanted. Therefore it is that with women, cruelty is more easily borne than coldness. Indeed, It is astonishing how much downright cruelty a woman will stand from the man she loves or has loved. What women admire is a subtle combination of forcefulness and gentleness. If a woman has to choose between forcefulness and gentleness, always she will sacrifice the latter." - Arnold Haultain

Married - 26, now - 45
Are you still married?
Yes, with 2 kids
Are you happy?
Yes, very
Why did you marry?
We were very natural together and knew we wanted to start a family
Why do you think marrying was a good move?
It was the right move for us, but that doesn't mean I think everyone should. I tell people, if you have any doubts at all, don't do it because those doubts will only grow and fester after you're married, and it's not worth it to "settle" in marriage. Neither of us had any doubts then and we still don't 19 years later.

Married at 38, wife was 24
44 now, wife hitting the big 3-0 this year.
Are you still married?
- Yes
Are you happy?
- No. Was up last night till 2am fukkin, then we got into some naked icewine and cheese in the kitchen which led to tequila and more clapping in the kitchen. Had to leave for work at 5:45am...never been more miserable.
Why did you marry?
- Love my wife and can confirm she loves me...but add to that mutual respect and understanding of each other plus strong physical attraction. Seems like a winning formula.
Why do you think marrying was a good move?
- Literally best decision of my life. There is always going to be challenges in life...avoiding things that may have serious challenges is a bitch move.

If that happens for you, I'm happy for you. If it's not and you stay happy as a bachelor, happy for you too. Miscers tend to have a pretty distorted view of reality tho - study after study showing people with a conventional home life tend to be happier, live longer, etc.
Just need to find the right person - sure most marriages fail but most people are obese, massive piles of debt etc. Don't be average, and don't settle for a partner like that. Pretty simple.
OP's questions:
Married at 30, just turned 35 Monday.
Still married, happiest I've ever been. My daughter just turned 2.

Got married at 20, age 33 now.
Are you still married?
Still married.Are you happy?
Yes. There have been some rough years, but overall it's been awesome. Why did you marry?
Not for a good reason. We were dating and she needed health insurance. I was military, so we got married. Bonus: I got to move out of the barracks. Why do you think marrying was a good move?
Honestly, we just got lucky. We got married too young and for terrible reasons. But we've been married almost 13 years now.

Married at 28, still married at 36 and happy.
Got married because we both wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. It was a good move because we were/are both on the same page.

Got married in 2006, was with her years before that. I think at 21 is when we hooked up. We took it slow on marrying, lived together most of that dating time. Gonna be 36 next month.
I don't know. Ask questions if you have any.

I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you.

At what age did you get married and how old are you now?Married at 21, now 39
Are you still married?Yes
Are you happy?Yes
Why did you marry?Because she's awesome
Why do you think marrying was a good move? She's fun to be around, has given me two great kids and a ton of fond memories
We grew up in a small town together and have been friends since we were in high school. I would be more apprehensive about marriage had I not known her for a long time.

We got married when I was 30, 37 now. Still married. 2 kids.
I'm happy. We had rough go after the second kid was born but we got most of our stuff figured out and we're a pretty happy couple. My marriage is the least of my worries right now.
I got married because I wanted to start a life with my wife and have a family together.
Marrying was a good move, 30 was a great age, I work with quite a few guys that are my age (37-38) and are either just getting married or just got married and are just thinking of having kids. Fuking lol @ chasing babies around in your 40's and working till 60 because you have to still support your kids.

-married @ 27, divorced @ 33
-married again @ 35, still married @ 46...together over 15 years though; didn't "monkey branch", was separated from ex as in he had moved out
-it's complicated; no cheating (AFAIK) or abusive stuff and we both think of the other as a good person, just wear and tear and may call it quits
-pregnancy, aka having a kid
-think it is better for children to have two parents

Marriage makes you a dishonest person, who then suffers from depression as you realise what a ****ty person you have become by being dishonourable as your second nature......

Married at 24 now 28
I am extremely happy with my choice. Marriage gets a bad rap but for every guy I hear complaining about their marriage I see a guy that puts no time in with their wife. I married my wife because she is my best friend and I wanted to spend every day with her. Most people get married and find out they do not really enjoy hanging out with that person.
My advice to everyone is do not get married unless you have no problem spending most of your time with them. If you can do that then I believe it is one of the best choices in life you can make. Also, in a good marriage you will have sex, but that is not what marriage is about

Married at 30, still married. Wife was 24 when we got married. Expecting first child in August.
Don't remember the other questions, but don't underestimate a persons background and how they were raised. Whether they admit it or not, or realize, whoever raised them has and will have a huge influence on how they think about things.
My wife and I love our parents, but are able to recognize their faults and accept that they are ****ty people in some respects.
Also agree on kids and money management up front.
