May's coming up and I'm reading a lot of success stories in this thread. That's pretty f'ng awesome but I'm just sitting here in week 16'ish of my cut down 50lbs and still have a 36.5" waist measured at the belly button at 210lbs. fml. I'm trying to lose another 4 lbs or so before the end of the month but it looks like I got at least 20lbs to go before I'm reaching 10-12% bf.

Cutting with no end in sight has had some mental benefits, though. I just had to accept my lifestyle whole-heartedly instead of looking for it to end. I don't really want to gain a lot of weight after this. I'd rather just stay lean and never deal with a long ass cut again lol.

Looks like I'm cutting until July though.

One of the shows was the biggest the state has every year so I was very pleased. Learned a LOT about my body and prepping better, learned a LOT of what I need to work on and do to succeed at nationals.

It got really bad a week out making weight. I was still sitting at 15lbs over and literally had to cut liquids to a glass a day for 3 days straight, 3 meals a day which were literally plain 4oz chicken breast 7 oz red potatoes and that was it. By day 3 my brain and body were DONE, was on diuretics flushing any remaining water out of my system and was able to make weight 4lbs under( 6 ft 211lbs). Then i got to refeed and carb load the fuk up for the stage, ate a clean unsalted no cheese hamburger, a sirloin steak, french fries, mashed potatoes, about 12 rice cakes with peanut butter and honey over the course of 6 hours, some more potatoes, some pancakes and eggs for breakfast, and a couple banana nut muffins. The transformation from being completely depleted from basically 2 months of almost no carbs and fats to hundreds of grams of carbs was crazy.

Taking a week to enjoy food mostly unrestricted and then reverse dieting from 2500 calories clean foods up to 4000 calories for about half a year or so then slowly moving back down.

The week of maintenance might have triggered more hunger. That being said, 500 calorie deficit is a pretty big one for a woman. I usually recommend 15-20% lower calories for cutting, not the usual 500 that most people say. This helps narrow that gap when dealing with women vs men. So a woman that has an 1800 calorie diet will only want to cut at a max of 360 calorie deficit, but can be as low as 250 and still make good progress.

I think you might have reset your body though. With an entire week at maintenance, your hormones etc are readjusted already and you are going through a transition phase that you already went through earlier in the diet.

Try to stick it out. If you have to, readjust your macros if it continues after a few days.

There's always someone that has to...

She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

No, and I am confused why fiber is even considered a carb since either it is broken down by gut bacteria into short chain fatty acids or is not digested in which case usually bind to toxins and are excreted.

well no. I'm only on eggs, chicken, whey, and casein during the week though so I'm close to 0 as it is. I also eat a small spoonful of greek yogurt with each meal that adds up to a few grams.

Digestive enzyme + fiber + probiotic yogurt + hydration ---> got me flat-gutted.

Think I'm gonna lose bout 10 more pounds brahs :| took longer for loose skin to tighten up than it did to lose the fat it feel like

That's what I was thinking, I was just curious because I know a lot of "health" bars and stuff similar will say something to the effect of "6 g Net Carbs" and then on the nutrition label have 23 carbs and 17 fiber. Screws with my MyFitnessPal but good to see I'm not dumb for not counting them.

I just scan the bar codes for MFP and am done with it. I don't calculate the partial carbs from fiber. Too much work and I like to keep it as simple as possible. IMO, it's getting close to micromanaging your diet to a point that can discourage you in tougher moments.

Some meat fat, MCT oil, and nuts/natural peanut butter for fats. Going to try and stay as low on sugar as possible, no breads, no pastas, no dairy.

But man let me tell you I am doing this week right. Not OVER indulging where I am binging on 10k cals a day but definitely have had a long time to think and plan. Did Chilis the day of the show after weigh ins because I could get the 2 for 20 and get chips and salsa(no salt added), a burger with no salt/cheese, a steak with no salt/cheese, fried and mashed potatoes with no salt/cheese. Then after the show went to BJ's brewhouse since it was the only good place open after 1130 and got deep dish buffalo pizza and the pazookie sampler. Then hit the hotel brunch in the morning at 7am, drove home 4 hours and had a massssssive brunch at the best brunch spot in town which I kid you not is $12 and has made to order tacos of all kinds top quality, carrot cake french toast, creme brulee french toast, tres leches muffins, flan, pecan raisin bread pudding, 3 enchiladas, 2 types of migas, sauasge, bacon, eggs, homemade waffles and pancakes, salad bar, soup bar, various mexican meats, 3-4 empanadas, and tons of other stuff. This is the meal I spent throwing up/going diarrhea over all night that night.

Then monday i made my favorite homemade breakfast which is protein waffles with pecans and banana, maple pork sausage, scambled whole eggs with sour cream whipped in, and I made 2 glazed doughnut waffles. Rest of the day just ate chicken and veggies. Tuesday I ate chicken and veggies and then my grandma and mom picked up some super good local pulled pork and we made a bunch of sliders, then had low calorie ice cream and three types of cheese cakes while we watched a movie.

Then today was my first day back to work so I hit up the best taco place here and got a bacon egg and chorizo taco and a bacon sausage and egg taco and then got some doughnuts from my favorite doughnut place. Going to a grilled cheese festival in about 15 minutes, then this weekend my GF is throwing a taste tripping party where we have Mberrys and taste a whole bunch of different food and drinks, and my parents are coming to town so we are going to be taking them to the most famous restaurants in town and im finishing the whole thing off with an easter sunday brunch buffet.

An acquaintance of mine got his IFBB pro card a couple years ago. Said winning nationals was, by far, the most intense, most difficult things he has ever accomplished. He broke down in the middle of the interview right after the show. So many feels. The guy literally put his entire life on hold for that show. It was so hard on him, that he hasn't competed since. Not sure what he's going to do at this point. He's making good money training now, so he might just continue doing that.

His name is Shelby Starnes. I learned a LOT from him over the years while discussing training and diet. Guy is a genuine guru and a pretty awesome guy to boot. After hearing his story in getting his card, I have mad respect for anyone that achieves this.

He's on the right in this pic.

Going to a grilled cheese festival in about 15 minutes, then this weekend my GF is throwing a taste tripping party where we have Mberrys and taste a whole bunch of different food and drinks, and my parents are coming to town so we are going to be taking them to the most famous restaurants in town and im finishing the whole thing off with an easter sunday brunch buffet.
jeez felt like i just read a book lol

Question for anyone who competes. I shaved everything except my armpits. Do you need to shave those too?
