Ripple Toes is **** for bodybuilding
There, i said it.
Every time i see it recommended to noobs I just lol
It's ok for increasing your squat but that's about it.
Ripple Toes routine is stone age **** and needs to be consigned to the history archives.

Ripple Toes, starting strength, all of that chit is bullchit.
Start with brosplits or PPL then move to PHAT after 1-2 years.

The only reason I hate it is because I see a bunch of noobs doing deadlifts/squats/ohp/rows with the archest back of peace and destroy their rotator cuffs in the bench.
If you're doing it with a trainer though I guess you'd get the noob gains anyway.

Did you gain 400% bf on GOMAD or something?
If you literally know zero about weight training, SS will at least teach you how to program effectively and set goals. I'd rather have high school kids doing SS than the bs I remember doing in the weight room.

Agreed. Absolutely horrible routine, luckily I never fell for it. That is, I did one session and barely felt like I had done anything and then never went back to it again.
If one wants aestethics the only fullbody routine worth its salt is Big Beyond Belief or something similar. But even then some muscle groups tend to get underdeveloped.

Surprising considering its not at all marketed as a bodybuilding or hypertrophy routine
You seem like someone that has very little knowledge or experience with training in general

As everyone has said it isn't specifically designed for hypertrophy.
I also believe that most beginning lifters, and even those training purely for aesthetics, would benefit from becoming proficient with the basic compound lifts. Especially given that most lifts you'll end up doing are just variations of the basic lifts. If you start as a beginner and learn to be a good squatter, presser, rower, puller, you will have a huge leg-up on the bro-splitter beginners who can barely curl properly. The mechanics of the core compound lifts carry over to almost everything else...
Not to mention it isn't the program causing these Dreamer bulks it's the GOMAD/"eat everything to get big" bro diets doing it. There's no reason to tell guys doing a 5x5 program to eat 1000+ calories over maintenance every day. It's just making them fat. That's the issue.

There's enough straw men in here, to build a small army.
"But but but the marketing!"
Where did OP state that it was marketed as a hypertrophy program? He said it was being recommended to noobs (who want to build muscle)... which it is.
Judging by OPs avi he's the best looking dude in here. No homo.

It is terrible. GOMAD is extremely retarded. There is no reason for someone to be squatting that much unless their goal is to be a powerlifter or football lineman.
Most people who seek workout help online are wanting to have a heavy bench, big arms and abs and look like Zyzz or Fight Club Brad Pitt but they end up looking like a fat bellied, skinny armed T Rex after listening to advice from online neckbeards.
You gettin repped on recharge, Earl.
