I'm on call this week (hvac service...so can get called out at any time) and went to the gym. Like 3 calls came in yesterday, two of which I was able to convince the people their issue wasn't an emergency in any way, and was a waste of overtime. I had to run the other.

Anyways, between being on call and a funeral it was just a chit gym session so I didn't finish my deadlifts and didn't even start my squats.

And I left the gym thinking "that was a pretty good session"
I was actually kidding, but leg curls are def a good exercise. Medium to wide stance hits hams and glutes really well.

My quads are really weak because of my knee issues. I wish there were as many quad exercises that were as awesome as hamstring exercises without a lot of stress on the knees

That's the interesting thing about iifym. I try to tell people that it pressures you in to making better choices so you're not always hungry. It's not near as much junk food and "fun" as one would think, which is why I like the term "flexible dieting" a little better. The idea that you COULD have junk if you want puts your mind at ease and makes good choices a little easier to tolerate. It's your choice, not because you're forced to. It's a mental game

when my gf slaps my ass it hurts really fukkin bad

makes me hate her for like 5 minutes while the sting goes away, so when i'm pain free what I do is get her out from behind me, bend her over like she did me and then smack her ass like 20x harder than she did mine.

no offense to you at all but is this not common sense to most people? When done correctly you can use the vast majority of your effort focused solely on the hamstring, and doing leg curl variation can totally destroy the muscle fibers in your hammies, i.e. changing toe position, doing controlled negatives, forced negatives, and squeeze at the top pause reps, and burn out sets/mega sets. I can guarantee you give me 3-5 minutes and I will have your hammies burning more than they have ever with squats or any other leg lift.

Right now in my routine I have leg curls at LEAST 4-5 times a week in different forms. I also do every muscle group hard at least twice a week and some added in work right now because I am doing a lot of circuit training and an interesting mix of single muscle group mixed in with full body.

The real truth is - unless your a manlet or a genetic freak on celltech - if youre tall as me its hard af to build ur legs. The only time I had them grow was when I was able to squat heavy, and did squats 3x a week + bulking.
Leg machine workouts dont do chit, I gave up on believing I can build my legs since I cant squat anymore. I still do legs just cause of the hell of it - but its like Im stuck in a non-growing legs phase. So yeah = tall + no squatting heavy 3x a week = legs stay the same.
And even when I saw them grow - after I stopped squatting - they went back to small so quick. All that fuken squatting for nothing

You are kind of making up a lot of excused with no real validity behind them.
Legs can grow massive from doing a lot of machine leg work, you just need to learn to hit all angles of the leg, use the right implementation of high volume, bloodflow, time under tension, and "heavy" lifts. claiming "too tall" and "cant squat heavy" as reasons for not having big legs are cop outs. You just gotta train them suckers consistently, train them HARD, and eat at a surplus long enough to build leg mass. I swear I do not know where people get this whole "I just cant grow XX muscle group". The body does not work that way, if you can grow muscle, you can grow muscle everywhere, it is you who is doing something wrong. The shape of your muscle, the symmetry, or the insertions make look like chit but you can still get size.

I was following this cutting program from my coach. Never seen such an approach on cutting. I don't eat carbs in my morning meal and then 70g of carbs after training, 2 more meals have 35g of carbs and last meal has 70 carbs in it.

Never seen this type of cutting program. Has anyone tried this, eating carbs in your last meal on a cut?

yes its called carb backloading, but more so just having carbs at the very end of the day/last meal or two. Seems like a pretty basic diet although a little high on carbs at 210g for a cut.

How am i making excuses when I stated that I already built them b4 when I was able to squat 3x a week, they started to look joocy thick solid. I wish i could squat more than ever, i loved squats, too bad my back is a piece of chit and squats aggravate it. I mean Im still trying to make them grow (currently in gym doing legs and killing it) but Im not going to do something that messes with my back, even though in my experience - squatting was the best way to make my legs grow

Yeah that's whay I wonder, seems like he wants me not to lose fat for a while so he could get the cash lol.
Did this diet for a month now, results are coming really slow. I thought I could achieve more than I did now.
Lately I've cut carbs in the last meal to 35g, hope for better results.

I like carb back loading, pretty much do strict keto for 4-6 weeks then I do timed keto after workouts at night so I do carbs and protein at night with no to little fat since the high carbs will spike insulin and fat cells would respond... so I don't eat fat after till insulin levels go down, so if it's a am workout I wait 4 hrs before eating fat after carb intake.

Don't listen to mh22, I am 6'1 (not really tall, but above average). First year or 2 of lifting I did leg press, Romanian Deadlifts(dumbbell) and machines. Had a ton of leg development, sure first 2 years so noob gains, but first year was all dumbells even for bench. So barbells are not the only way, they are the best but you can body build without barbell squats.

As Jestbrah said it is some type of carb back loading.
I do this and have most of my carbs from aloud 2 PM until bed around 10PM.

I will be doing it more strictly when I start prep in June.

I wake up so hungry.

I haven't squatted in over a year. My left knee was twisted years ago working in the yard.
Squatting just made it feel as if it was being sheared.
I know use leg press, hack squat, V-squat, leg ext.
My legs improved significantly.

One just need to learn what works for them.

Think outside the Bro Box.

Feels good to be back, haven't been around for a few volumes

Finally started actually lifting again
-lifted and cardio consistently for about 2 weeks now
-got a Fitbit so I can track general fitness
-summer starts from school in about a week and half so can do my own meal prep over summer
-found a great new fat burner that I'm actually in love with and I've never liked one before

Time to cut up. Surprisingly with how little I've worked out this past year - little over a year, I've not lost too much strength and not lost a ton of muscle (but gotton fat)
