So based on those prices it looks like miscers should literally move to NC. Interdasting.....

My parents house in NYC is worth 1.5 mil. Same type of house you can get in Texas easily for 250-300k. Location is everything when it comes down to prices on real estate. More popular your city/ state is the more you'll be paying for a lower quality house in the area.

idk why ppl get so butthurt over this. If you don't want to live in Manhattan, go move to New Mexico or Mississippi and buy a big house. Why is it necessary to say "LOL, OMG I can't believe it costs so much in NYC/SF"

It kills me.
Where I'm from, pacific north west, a new house that's say.. 2,000 sq feet is about $850-900,000. It doesn't make sense. We don't even get the cali sun for those prices.
$500,000 will get you a very mediocre house build in 1970 with some issues but maybe 3 bedrooms 2 baths and a tiny lot.
That's not even downtown.
I want to move somewhere else so bad but family is here and it's so hard to leave home and friends/family

Plano is getting too crowded and traffic has gotten insane.

but on the other hand, you feel completely isolated when you leave your family and friends. I love to pack up in move, to be honest I wouldn't even care if I had to pay the same prices, just if I got some damn sun with it. I don't know why people are obsessed with this place

I mean, I love NC, but the summers are just too fuking brutal for me. The humidity is such a killer. The average temperature in Portland during July/August is EIGHTY ONE degrees. I would kill for that weather. You can almost guarantee 95+ Degree weather with 80%+ humidity every day in July/August here.
