Long read guys, not putting cliffs. In fact after typing this out I feel better already..

I remember being 18, promising myself Id have a GTR by the time I was 25. Worked my ass off in college. Worked multiple jobs until 2am while everyone else partied. At age 22, I realized that having a GTR wasnt exactly realistic, so I promised myself one at 28. Would do whatever it took to have one. Went to grad school for healthcare administration, got some basic work experience in decent business companies. Was confident Id have something upon graduating.

I was an only child growing up, and was close with my parents. Grew up in NJ. Things got expensive for my parents and they decided to retire in NC. I still had one year left in school and was living on my own. Things were expensive. Rent was $1100 a month for a studio and I was only making about $1200 a month. In my last semester of school, I started to look for jobs. I was once again confident Id have something. However, after 3 months of applying for places in NJ, having no offers, and having to renew my rent; I decided to move south with my parents.

It was January 2016 and Im fresh in a new state; no friends, no job offer. My friends back home were surprised I moved. They all had normal well paying jobs. But for some reason, I couldnt get one. Anyway, I again applied and applied in NC. Since I had prior healthcare experience in a nursing home doing activities (bingo, exercise), I was lucky enough to get a job interview where my mom worked at. I figured it would be a intro job, and I could further move in the company. I was confident Id get it. Surprisingly I didnt. I was shocked considering I did the same exact job for 4 years in NJ. No big deal, something else will open up.

Fast forward to April 2017, and nothing has changed. In fact, Im 0/8 in job interviews here. Ive applied to 100's of jobs here, however I have never been lucky enough to get anything back. Im 26 now and to be honest lost in life. Feel like a huge failure. The kid that was confident he'd have a GTR by 25 and would do anything to make it happen, is now struggling. Meanwhile everyone else around him is getting jobs.

I read tons of books, probably 30 in the last 6 months on entrepreneurship, sales, business, real estate investing. However, in the last couple of days ive lost interest. Whats the point? Im now at a point where I honestly have no idea what I want to do or where I see myself in 5 years. I was always a late bloomer growing up; whether it was with girls, sports, or anything. Im hoping I can be in somewhat of a career by 28.. Id love to make 50k a year, invest 40% of it, buy real estate and make residual income off it. However, with most things luck has to be involved.

Are we really all going to make it? Or is this some cliche thing we say?

The million dollar question bro: What do I want to be when I grow up? I bet you can easily get a tradie job until you figure it out srs. Even waiters/bartenders at a nice restaurant make decent money until you know what you want to do.

My buddies also did international business and got great paying jobs somehow.

OP healthcare is a field that has been dead since the 1970s.

Can you think of a single firm that inspires you to join it? No, because there are none.

Learn software or finance, there is a reason that 90% of the job listings on those job websites are those two fields.

You just have to have mental strength and wake up and maximize every single day. You can get lost thinking about the big picture but if you wake up everyday and focus on that day you'll have enough good days which will translate into long term success.

Life really is about mental strength and not being a pussy basically. Whining about your failures or being upset and feeling inferior and comparing yourself to other people is a bitch mentality. Are you a bitch or a man?

Maybe be more aggressive with your job search and try and look into how to network for jobs. Just a thought.

Some dick I interviewed with wasn't impressed with my biggest sale was a 115k order at 34.5 gross profit.

You sound like a total try hard with unrealistic expectations for yourself. First a GTR by 25 now you are going to be a real estate mongul without even a well paying job??

Find a job that pays well and has a career ahead of it and work there for a few years before over reaching and spreading yourself thin on exotic sports cars and "rental properties." You sound extremely naive. The world does not work the way you think it does--you dont just get rich overnight easily. Establish yourself before setting these ridiculous goals

Yeah I feel like a failure and it leads to crippling depression somedays.

Career wise I'm not where I envisioned myself being. Kinda pigeonholed in a position and finding it difficult to escape. Currently job hunting, hopefully I can find something even if I have to start over again. It's better than your situation cause at least its related to my field of study but I don't see any possibilities of "moving up" so to speak. It's like perpetually being in an entry level position. I can't keep doing this.

Also have a non-existent relationship status.

OP, you need to stop comparing yourself to others. Just keep trying to make progress however small every day (apply for jobs, improve knowledge in your intended field, get in touch with people etc.), things will fall into place at some point. All you need is one good break for things to go on a completely different trajectory. there are many extremely successful people who didn't get their break until much later in life.

Ambition man. Beats the average "Getting married by 25, owning house by 30" mentality. Housing is cheap in NC so why not? Part of the reason I feel like a failure is because I dont have the resources to follow my goals (Real estate etc)..

OP, the problem is you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.

If I were you I would be trying everything I could to earn money online. Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Ecommerce.

If you have a car drive an Uber to pay the bills and keep applying for jobs in the mean time.
