I guess that you can do whatever you want, but McDonald lays down strict guidelines in the book. I haven't looked at it in a while, but I believe that the protein requirements are around 1.5 gram per lb of body weight at least. If you are just eating 1 gram per lb of body weight or less, then it isn't really a PSMF as outlined by McDonald and there is a risk of losing muscle.
I don't see how someone could lift with intensity more than 2 times a week while in such a high caloric deficit.

if you're fat enough it's very doable....

Once you approach leanness tho...

Agree. Possibly after the refeed day if you didn't work out on that day( I know Lyle recommends it). After that though, I feel like a zombie in the gym with just enough energy to get through the workout.

Put on only a couple of pounds after my refeed and it was back off a day or so after getting back on the diet.
Found so,e crucial recipes brahs! Making a zesty fiesta chicken soup right now. Will post once done making it.

You could easily put this in your crockpot before work and it be done when you got home. This with a couple scoops of whey and either tuna or beef jerky puts me right where I need to be.

Iced black coffee from Starbucks is actually not bad and probably the only thing on the menu that's reasonably priced.

Wheel spinning. The refeed and free meal at the end of the week is enough.

Also did once while having crohn's. Crohn's disease makes dieting easy mode because you're never hungry.
How were the results to maintain after the fact? Could you begin to eat a bit more of a normal meal plan while still staying lean and maintaining? Or do you pack the pounds on pretty quick?

Yeah, which most of that was water. This is very clearly outlined in Lyle's book and it is simple math. There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. At a conservative maintenance of 2000 for your itty bitty weight, you only cut 7200 calories, and that's at 800cal a day.

I've been doing 3 PSMF cycles a year for the last 3 years. I've got a little bit of experience in this

Going to do a 2 day cycle (got two days off and I'm a posssy lmao). I've been getting lean the past month without it, but this past week I didn't lose a pound so idk wtf is going on. Woke up lean af yesterday and thought for sure I'd lose 2lbs atleast. Nah 179 still. Time for this PSMF to fix this bullshiet. Although the crazy thing is I feel like I've gained some muscle because my shirts fit tighter, I look bigger (could be illusion from getting leaner), and my lifts are stronger.... but how? My ass has been on a deficit? Not sure what it is, but fuk it lol.

Do it for at least a week. Two days isn't even long enough for your body to get into ketosis. You're wasting your time.

1. cutting now on right around 2000 cals, and between nightly sleep+naps i sleep 12+ hours a day and i'm still tired all the time so i can't imagine how i'll be on this

2. isn't having no fat on a daily basis going to fuk up your hormones?

You get to eat up to 20g of fat a day so it's not like you're not getting any at all. The program is a crash diet. It isn't something you stay on for a long time. You're body will eventually adapt and you definitely won't be sleeping twelve hours once you've been on it for a bit.

I found 1800 to be too low, it always leads to bingeing and wheel spinning. I had to bring it up to 2000-2200 and I feel much better with less urge to binge. I run 3 miles a day too though.

You should just stop posting.

You went 12k over maintenance. Now it has been proven that you won't absorb all of that but for sake of numbers, you just wasted 12 days of PSMF.

Visible difference is huge. Soz no pics. I was hovering around 71kg normally, binge ate for 2-3 days to get full bloat to 75kg, then shot way back down about 1kg a day to about 65kg. Theory was to let the water keep draining and only eating protein and a little bit of cabbage/broc**** (i didn't do the all you can eat veggies).

As of today I am hovering around 66kg, so long term dropped 5kg in 10days and can sustain this.

Threw away my 34" trousers and can fit into my 32s every day for work now. Feelsgoodman. Also this way when they start getting tight again, I'll do a 3-4 day PSMF again and drop. Although so far it's been so easy to keep the weight off, and no performance suffering in the gym.

In fact less weight carrying around means more energy levels throughout the day and I'm sure my NEAT has gone up, helping keep the weight off. Went roughly from 18% (bloated) to 13% dry. Currently sitting around 12-14%.

EDIT: actually Im about the same amount of leanness now as my avatar but that was at 60kg 2 years ago, so +6kg to that
We're all gonna make it.
