Gotta give it to Messi, he played really well this game.

If there's anyone to blame for this game it would be Sergio Ramos. This guy gets more red cards than the whole La Liga defenders put together.

Too bad that RM has 1 less game than Barça has, they will very likely be still #1 & has high chances of winning the UCL.

If RM wins La Liga & UCL Ronaldo will get another Ballon D'or, officially becoming tied with Messi with 5 Ballon D'or + an International Award with his country team (which lets face it, is 10x weaker than Argentina is lmao. Only 2 players on Portugal are Pepe and Ronaldo).

Ending the Messi vs Ronaldo bull****.

I don't dislike Messi but I honestly would love to see him perform in the most competitive league (England)

Back to back hat tricks againt Bayern and Athletico. Dragged a weak Portugal team to the Euro final and carried them over the line from the touchline. Will win the CL and La Liga this year and get another Ballon Dor. Honestly the discussion is dead now, Ronaldo confirmed GOAT. Messi lifts jerseys, Ronaldo lifts trophies.

Ronaldo and messi as 1 and 2 of all time is not even a debate anymore, suggesting anything else is just embarrassing at this point

You could argue messi is number 1, but you'd be wrong

lol @ all these penaldo nuthuggers, if you fgts actually watch soccer you would know messi is clear and away the greatest player of his generation and second only to maradona all time, he can't thread the final ball, he can't dribble, he can't even take free kicks anymore, he's selfish, he's a ball hog, literally all he does is tap ins and headers, the guy's a legit bum and shouldn't be anywhere close to a conversation about GOATS in this sport

also for those listing his accomplishment, reminder that this guy played with deco, carvalho, figo and didn't win jack, he scores a couple of goals against hungary a team of literally who? and does nothing for the rest of the tournament but somehow he gets the credit for euro when you had guys like sanches and guerrero playing out of their minds, in the cl finals he was legit invisible and should offer to suck on di maria, ramos and bale's dicks for bailing him out, what a glory stealing scrub

His goal scoring record at real madrid is well over a goal a game for 8 years now, nobody can match that

Hes potentially going to win his 4th champions league, all with far less quality players than messi has had

Hes dominated, won the cl, and balon d'or at two clubs in the two hardest leagues

Hes won, and carried an extremely mediocre national team and is one of the top scorers in internationals

- Great in the air for heading the ball (amazing vertical leap, can jump higher than the average NBA player)

- Godlike dribbling skill/agility, extremely fast and also very strong (inb4 diving hate)

- Amazing longevity, guy is in his 30s and is barely showing any signs of slowing down (i cant even run to the shop without gassing and I'm 27, guy is keeping up with players 10+ years younger)

- Scores goals for fun (football isnt like basketball where the scores are 50+ points a match, you can watch an entire match and there might not be a single goal scored. But ronaldo bags goals for fun, he averages a couple goals a match at an elite level which doesnt sound like alot to you but is amazing in this context)

- Able to shoot and score from anywhere, dangerous AF/unpredictable (play football yourself and you will see that not every player thats good on the ball is necessarily good at finishing/scoring)

- Great shooting ability (can make the ball dip/spin etc which makes it harder for the goalkeeper to anticipate)

Basically just an all around gifted technical player, there are tons of variables in football where most players fall short in a few areas, but he is literally godlike in every aspect there is (yes dickrider)

less quality players than Messi?..ok stop talking

Goalscoring king, sure..anything else Messi does better, except headers, and Messi has 0.5 less goalscoring skills than Offsidenaldo...

wouldn't even have this conversation if the refs did their job...

Messi scored a hattrick at the Bernabeo as 19...I think it was settled back then already. too bad social media/kids on ******** werent back then.

If Cr7 had the same technical abilities, vision, passes, dribbles, game logic, we could talk about a joint GOAT position

Last Sunday Cr7 lost a DIRECT(I repeat DIRECT as in MESSI/barcelona) duel vs his rival at his home field and u *****s obviously have forgotten that already, seeing his true face when Messi scored in 92

Messi has played with Iniesta, Xavi, busquets for the majority of his career (and has actually taken a step backwards since xavi left)

Not only is that far better than what Ronaldo has played with, that is the greatest midfield of ALL time

We can see what Messi is like without them when he plays for Argentina, nothing special whatsoever

Other than that all your aguements are subjective evaluations or cherry picked individual games, of which there are as many to contrary with lasts nights performance being more impressive than those you listed, being a cl semi final hatrick against the besr defensive team of the last 5 years

I definitely think Messi and Ronaldo are now officially the top 2 to have ever played the game. Messi is definitely the GOAT though and it's not even close.

If you look at their goals and assists, then there's not that much between them. However, the biggest difference (and why Messi is the GOAT) is the influence Messi has on his team. The one stat that doesn't get recorded, is the very beginning of an attack. So often he is the catalyst and can single-handedly carve open up a team. Whether it's taking on a man, or just a drop of the shoulder... he will open up space for him and his team mates. This chit is so underrated, but attacking-minded players only seem to get credit for goals and assists. Messi is the man who assists the assister.
