Bolded is essentially what I said (I'm not one of the people who said he's too perfect because that's not my thoughts at all, just responded to you originally because you also included people who said he's not their type, which I did).

But yeah those two are up to my standards of what I find attractive, and I'd have no chance in hell with either of them, the guy in op I'd also have no chance with and I don't find him attractive, so I guess I don't understand how my attraction or lack of can be based on whether I have a chance with them or not.

This isn't exclusive to men tbh. I said something about how Jojo from the Bachelorette is a 7 to some girl and she totally lost it. I didn't know Aus/NZ were different to other countries in that respect. Could be a valid point then.

Edit: I suppose another thing is, although I am a firm believer in traditional gender roles for family, I am not particularly feminine and anyone I'm with absolutely must be more masculine than me.

I'm not manly as such, but a guy that's still in the bathroom putting make up on while I stand there going, "for ****s sakes you look fine just get in the ****ing car" isn't going to make a great match. This doesn't go through my head while I "decide" what I'm attracted to or not, but probably naturally plays into it.
