Meh why travel when you live in California.
I can just watch Parts Unknown and get the same appreciation minus the soul sucking diarrhea.
I've been to one third world country. Beautiful in many regards but made me see real poverty. I do not feel surperior in any way.

Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:

So I couldn't give a ****, it's all just pavements and people, there's nothing I hate more than 'travellers'. Like you know the locals don't actually all have dreads and live in parachute pants or pyjamas, why do westerners have to dress like that?

That fact that people spend money to travel is beyond me. If you want me to travel somewhere, you're going to have to pay me my wage, plus traveling expenses. Ain't no way I'm going through torture structures we call airports to be surrounded by less fortunate, smelly people so I can experience another culture for thousands of dollars. Fuk that noise.

know these feels op. agreed with annoyances from these people and from pregnant women who feel special. brb literally every person who is here came from a woman who was pregnant so clearly this has been done before, and up until a couple of hundred years ago, they worked physically everyday up until the baby was born. now women take 6 months off with 20 percent of that leave occuring before the baby is born. just fukin lol. if you cant handle being pregnant how tf are you going to manage actually caring for a kid.

I enjoy 'traveling' to a point but usually for about a week at a time and never outside of the US. The idea of going experience some poverty third world country/ subpar culture doesn't interest me in the least.
I live a fairly busy life so for me an ideal vacation would be heading to Florida and doing a bit of scuba diving. Maybe some fishing. Some relaxing on the beach. Or maybe head up to the mountains and do some hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing or snowboarding... Or perhaps rent a motorcycle and cruise a coastal highway. Etc.
Blows my mind that most people who 'travel' just look at stuff and party and claim they are 'experiencing' a culture or some BS like that.
Eventually I'll probably get a camper or RV and when I 'travel' I'll just spend all my time relaxing in some national park or something like that, just enjoying nature.

It definitely opens your mind and introduces you to knew things. Doesn't necessarily make you superior. No point in being bitter about it though because you've never left your home town for more than two weeks at a time.

people talk about being immersed in a different culture and all but are the traveling to rural ass towns in thailand or to pattaya/phuket? I enjoy traveling but I don't see it as some life changing experience. I have however not traveled for a long period of time. There is more than enough in my state alone for me to experience. Ill wait till I see more of what I want here/nearby states before I go spending money to go elsewhere.

Definitely hear what your saying OP but its like anything. People who constantly talk about their 'fitness journey' on FB/instagram, or won't stop talking about their kids or whatever it is.
People just talk about what interests them or they feel passionate about. There is condescending people regardless whether its fit people who think they're superior to unfit people or people who are well travelled who think that makes them better than people who stay in their hometown their whole life.
I know one guy who is well travelled who I love hearing about his travels because he has so many interesting storeys to tell and perspectives on things.
I like talking about my travels because they were genuinely life changing and an amazing experience but I am also well aware that not everyone wants to hear about it so I try to only talk about them if they are in the context of conversation.
I will say though that travelling can expose you to new experiences that you wouldn't otherwise ever see and really change your perspective on things. Its hard for some people not to talk about meaningful experiences.
Im happy to hear people talk about travelling as long as its not in an egotistical on condescending way

but yeah, anyone reasonable realises that no one gives a fuk about your travel stories, for the most part - same as the rest of life. no one gives a fuk about your job, your family, anything about you.
