Dip the toast to empty the soft yolk, then you open the top a bit wider and you need a small spoon that's curved you can get all the white if it's not too mushy you just sorta scrape in inside of the shell clean. The trick is you want the yolk runny but the white completely solid near the shell, and a lil bit softer near the yolk
Feels good man it feels kinda primal, like eating meat off the bone or picking apart ribs with your fingers

With hardboiled there's a bit of squeeze to them so you can do it while burning your fingers off
tbh there's not much different between soft boiled and poached if you didn't own an egg cup, but you're missing out on the experience fo sho

Soft boiled egg + salt is so damn hnnnnngggg.
Don't care much for dipping toast in the yolk.
Also anyone who've stayed at a hotel in (most, if not all of, I think?) Europe should know what an eggcup is.

Finding out many people ITT never had or even know what a soft boiled egg is.
You eat the egg with the shell on because peeling a soft boiled egg is a delicate matter, and because the yolk is thick, and semi solid, you can't just eat it in half or you'll have the yolk run down your hand. The shell itself is the container while you eat it.
An egg cup is entirely optional.
