Thanks for the response. I understand your perspective but can't say I agree. There may be a god, doubtful but possible, but it's evident to me that the world (whether or not god created it) is not black and white at all. You can quote a verse and claim I misunderstand it; that's not new to me and a favorite go-to of my religious friends in our ongoing discussions. I find it an easy way to distract from the discussion for them, but don't usually call them out. It's what they've been taught.

I've read the bible as well as other major religious texts cover to cover but I don't claim to understand it. It's absurd to me to question the logical conclusion that morality is very subjective: all I have to do is open my eyes and see the world around me. No verse has convinced me otherwise yet and I've heard many interpretations from various people.
