One time I took a civil service exam and other people got bonus points because of their gender or color of their skin and I didn't. Such is modern day equality...

A few times but I never took it personally as its a reflection upon them, not me.

All through the years that I was growing up I was called every derogatory name you can think of for being of Italian heritage. I lived in an area that was 80% Irish. It led to a lot of fights in the street. Later on in life when you added alcohol or drugs, or both then people sometimes were killed for such slights.

A few years back I was dating a girl and we were really doing well and looking at the long term. She was a bit younger than I am and she was black. Well her family absolutely wouldn't accept me or us. They were not very accepting of me for being white. They had a big BBQ and she invited me. Everything seemed fine at first. Then her cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents arrived.

I was introduced and a few blurted right out "what the fawk is a white dude doing here?!." I replied that I was in fact invited and I was dating his cousin and she invited me. That went over like a lead balloon. Next thing I know they are calling me cracker and worse. I politely excused myself and left. Against her wishes.

That was the end of us. I regretted it but it had to be done. I'm not the type of guy to put up with such things. In my younger days there would have been violence for sure. But I've grown as a person.

So much for white privilege.

Many of us don't. It's mostly the older generation and those from the old country. They don't like Sicilians either.

Interviewed for a job running a department store, I was told I didn't meet the "company's ideal for a diverse and inclusive workplace" in those exact words despite interviewing well and being very well qualified.

Literally didn't get a job that would have paid me 3x what I make now per year because I'm a straight white male.

Yeah, so much white privilege going on here in the USA, murica.

Have you really? Because I have. By black people, ironically. I had a project where I had to fire my concrete contractor, who was black. He immediately went to the local version of Al Sharpton and they mobilized protesters the next day, and the story was picked up by the local news. "Discrimination against minorities! Unfair treatment!" You could tell this was a half ass committment to a protest, because they started protesting outside the gates of the industrial park we were doing the project in, so they could be seen from the highway. And within a day they ended up protesting up the road at the gas station, so they had easy access to A/C, bathrooms, food and refreshments.

One of my friends came back on site on the 3rd day of protesting. He was on another job for the first two. Sometime mid morning he had to run up to the gas station for something, and runs into the protesters. Mind you, my friend is an older black gentleman who you could tell is a tradie, particularly when you get to see his tradie truck. Before going into the store he asks one of the protesters what they are protesting. They give the canned "we're fighting for YOU brotha!" Then go on with other talking points they had been given. Then my friend says "interesting, because I'm actually working on that job and have a $1.4M contract. And the guy that's running the job is black. But good luck with your protest!" Then went inside. It lasted just a few more hours and they disbanded and never came back.

Middle Eastern brah checking in, living in Canada.

Several times actually between 16-18.

One time when I was 17, I was walking to the convenience store and some big white guy stopped me, spat on my face and then said, "Go back to your country."

Briefly after the Parliament Hill shootings back in 2014 (I was still 17), an old white guy chose to sit beside me on an empty bus and stare me down. He then said "you don't belong here." Then he picked his nose and flicked it at me, and said, "This is what you are." I left that bus.

Then another time when I was 18, I was walking home from campus on a Thursday (Thursday is when the campus bar is open and people are drinking). I encountered two drunk white guys who pushed me, kicked me and told me, "You don't belong get the phuck out of here." This happened near the bus stops.

Also a reminder that I'm a pretty small dude and before I started lifting I was a twig at 115 lbs, so I was an easy target for people looking to be racist towards Middle Eastern people.

After that last incident I started lifting and bulked up to 140 lbs (I'm sitting at 135 currently). Ever since I packed on a bit of size the harassment stopped.

It's actually one of the main reasons why I hate being so small. It makes me an easy target to be picked on. I wish I looked more intimidating.

Funniest thing that happened was a random checkup at an airport in Germany. This happened when I was 16. I had four huge German dudes pat me down and it was kinda terrifying. They basically stripped me to my underwear in public so I was embarrassed as well.

- Asians are the model minority, so have white privilege apparently, no SJWs to campaign for us
- Asian men are the most misogynistic in the world according to hollywood (despite having lowest domestic violence, >50% female CEO, many female presidents, etc.), so dating white is seen as progressive, and dating Asian as giving into the patriarchy.
- Seen as too obedient to be leaders, hence face bamboo ceiling
- Peers too smart, so face affirmative action.
- "I don't date Asians" is seen as feminist, empowering and progressive. "I don't date black" is seen as racist

Personal experiences:
- Passed over for promotion for a white junior 3 years less experienced, despite me bringing in numerous clients, and him, 0. He was so bad he actually made a massive mistake that cost the company millions, but is completely forgiven. Meanwhile, they're threatening to fire me for speaking up when I discovered the mistake and asked them to fix it before it was too late. When they hire Asian, they want a obedient robot.

- 7 female cousins, 6 married white, 1 indian. One of them recently told my 6 year old nephew at a gathering that its ok, and its normal for him to be single and alone, because he's Asian. Told my niece she was beautiful and definitely would be able to have a white husband.

- Good mate of mine, tall, rich, handsome, from great family, senior associate in law firm, wife left him and their 2 children for her white drug dealer. Says she's very blessed to find a white boyfriend. Calls her children part of her old life, and too Asian. He had to give her 70% of his monthly salary, along with his house and car as part of the divorce, despite him raising the kids all the time. Is suicidal.

- 9 male cousins, only 1 married, the rest single. Mothers brought them up to be proud feminists. Not allowed to date till they had stable careers (senior management), and a large house in a good suburb. One of them (a doctor) had a white gf in high school, mother threatened to kill herself. Been single till now, 40+, and his mother threatens to kill herself if he doesn't marry an Asian girl and produce 2 grandkids. This is the very same aunt that boasts loudly during gatherings of her daughters white boyfriends (since middle school) and white husbands (been divorced many times)

- Asian mate joined the military, was called all sorts of racist names, but he took it like a man. Served proudly till he got injured in a firefight, and got discharged, all this while being hurled a constant stream of racial abuse from the very men he fought with. On the first week back, someone in the city threw milk at him and asked him to fuk off back to where he was originally from. A frenchie that cannot speak a lick of english will be considered far less foreign than he ever will, and he was born and raised here.

- As a teen, we casually said the NAME of a restaurant in Chinese, and got abused non-stop 15 minute on the tram a bunch of strangers for using foreign language, got asked to fuk off back to where we're from, its an english speaking society, etc. This is by 3 different people who didn't even know each other. All this, while some wog is speaking in full blast italian on his phone next to us. No, they weren't abusing him, because they said ching chang chong many times, as part of the abuse.

Asian society is a proud feminist society. Don't let your society become like that. Being an Asian man is living on nightmare mode.

Happens often.
Shame to be seen as a lower lifeform in the country I was born and raised in. The country I call home and would defend with my life.

Everyone will have if you realise it or not. For example women are far more likely to get a job given the same credentials as a man

grew up as the only asian kid in school so u can imagine how that went. lived in the states with only my mother raising me so no male role models at all. when i watched tv or hollywood movies there were no asian men in them. only white leads. if there were male asian actors they were in comedic roles to be laughed at. so i had no idea how a masculine asian man was supposed to act. parents didn't help at all, they only cared about my grades

throughout my childhood and teens i was a self hating asian. eventually grew out of it and learned to embrace my azn heritage
