There needs to be a 0 excuse policy to why your camera was off. You'll be surprised how many cops will suddenly remember to keep their cams on when their ass is on the line.

You are basically screwing up someones life irreversibly. That charge will always be there even though he was innocent and will hinder employment and other opportunities.

This whole thing is idiotic, the case would have been thrown out anyway as the cop didnt "find" the drugs on the guy and any half decent public defender would have argued just because the drugs were there doesnt mean his client tossed them there. What a waste of a career for the guy to do a few months in prison. Smh

As an undergrad, I trained at a gym full of swat/dea and all of them were on aas (I know factually). Some even sold it in the gym. None of this surprises me.

My take on this strictly by the video; this seems fake. How exactly does a camera randomly know 30 seconds before you are going to turn it on? It would have to be recording 24/7 then delete all the irrelevant data when you press the power button. That would kill the battery in no time. If you are planting evidence you would make damn sure the camera is off/cover the the view. Also, if you were planting evidence, would you blindly turn over the camera without first checking it?

Viewing the video objectively, it doesn't add up at all.


EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently body cameras have external battery packes that allow it to record all day. And that officer was a moron.

Dashcams can hold up to 2 days storage then delete all the extra footage that wasnt triggered to be recorded, either by the cop or by the light bar activation. I dont know of any bodycams that have the capacity to do that
