If you want to try and get them listed a valid and credentialed charity, you'll need to submit them to the BBB here:https://www.give.org/ask-us-about-a-charity1/and Charity Navigator here:https://charity-navigator.tenderapp.com/discussion/new
Because there are tons and tons of bogus charity groups that pop up every time there is a natural disaster, you cannot trust just anyone - even if they are a known figure in your city.
[ul]
[/ul]
Believe me, this happens all the time. That's why I didn't ask anyone to send the money to me first, and asked them to donate directly to the charity. That would be a major risk for me to just take the money and say I donated it to a charity. Therefore, I can only endorse well known, endorsed and accredited charitable organizations.
I ask everyone else not to rep individuals who are donating to non-vetted charities and if you cannot prove they are legitimate charities with 501(c) tax exemption status, I'll have to delete the post with their names listed. I'm sorry, but I can't risk members getting scammed by unknown or potentially scam charities.

But, I just have other commitments at the moment. Thanks everyone for donating and participating! I will be back tomorrow morning or later tonight to check up on what's going on.

In addition to what another poster said, I don't trust the RC. I do absolutely appreciate what you put together, however I'd recommend a focus on local charities.
Fuk Reddit but lately for this storm it's been really great. Here's a few links to why not to trust the RC and more places to donate locally.
https://www.reddit.com/r/houston/comments/6we6o9/_/
Again, seriously appreciate what y'all are doing. We know a lot of people affected and it's not even close to being over with yet.
Edit: ok so the RC screwed up with Haiti but in general seem to be a great organization. Regardless, the link still seems relevant.

I'm in Spring, just one mile south of 99 and a bit west of i45. We had a stock pile of sushi just before the storm hit, shared with some of my dad's fire department friends.

My neighborhood is completely flooded in, no escape in any direction
Hopefully everyone around us has enough food to last. We have enough to go 1-2 weeks
All supermarkets are closed, some gas stations are open but have been cleared out food wise. Barely even any beer left lol
