Yes do it. A few weeks ago we got our 6 year old a 90cc atv for her birthday. Of course we set the throttle screw so it only goes like 5 mph but I can back that screw out and rip around on it myself. As long as it stays running she will use it for years.

my cousin is 12 now. got his first dirt bike at 6. Loved it, turned it into a hobby and when he was 10 he was competing in his local championships. Landed badly last year and broke both arms, one had 3 fractures. was pretty fukked up even though he lives far from me and i only heard about it.
Took a year to recover and he's back at it again. Lol.
