Started having to put in more effort for the same results around 30-33. About the same time I noticed I cant digest certain things anymore and recovery starts taking longer when I injure myself.

Slight adjustments were needed, nothing major. Your body is constantly changing, pay attention to it and be ready to adapt if you have to.

29 here.

Strength-wise I feel like most people can peak in their late 30's so long as they're not injuring themselves due to poor form.

Athletically though I tore my ACL at 21 and the explosiveness will probably never be the same.

i'm 37. from what i've noticed, my strength has been steadily increasing but i'm more prone to injuries and recovery takes a little longer. old man muscle memory kicks in though and the strength gains comes back quick. i have a lot more aches and pains in my body, especially on my joints and feet (plantar fasciitis). Looks wise, it's harder to keep my muscle definition as it's been harder for me to burn fat. i dont have a lot of time like i used to since i have a family, so i cant do cardio as much as i need to. as such, i have to watch my diet a lot more because my metabolism has slowed down.

at 31 now, its a bit harder to keep fat off and energy levels are a little lower than when in 20's, I mostly attribute this to the 9-5 desk grind. Strength is highest its been and I would say my endurance is also the highest its ever been. Will check back in next year.

I didn't really make the most of my potential when I was younger so I'm not entirely sure when the decline started or if it even has yet and I'm 32. I am the strongest I've ever been in my life and soon enough my body fat % will be at an all time low. Overall I feel better than I did when I was younger and life overall is better for me.

31. Strength and endurance are going up. Reflexes/Speed abit on decline compared to my mid 20s but I think it's related to too much work/not enough recovery

These guys saying they're in their 30's and haven't felt a physical decline are hilarious. Truth is, you were just never in that great of shape in your late teens or 20s, so you don't know what it feels like.

Scientifically, men hit their physical peak around 22. Mental maturity continues to occur until 25, and athletes are typically in their "prime" physically and mentally from about 26-28. After that peak performance begins to drop as mental maturity can no longer compensate for the gradual physical decline.

I'm not sure if I was one of the posters you were directing this towards...

I agree with you, but I can honestly say I didn't notice anything until a few years ago. It's a gradual decline after all.

My energy in the gym feels about the same, but I do have to work harder to get results that came easier in my twenties. One thing in particular that is different is I feel fatigue in the morning after a workout that I never had in my twenties.

Everyone is a little different. I can't say I have aches and pains all the time, recovery for me isn't much of an issue other than fatigue the day after.

At 24 I'm in the best shape of my life.

But I started noticing differences when in turned 23. Hangovers at 23 were way worse than they were at 19. At 18 you recover so quickly from workouts and exercise, while at 23 you feel the effects of 500 pound squats. You can be fine on 2 hours of sleep at 18, I need some real sleep now.

I'm 29 and I lift and play soccer.
Lifting-wise, I have continued to improve since I started, both strength and physique. I've never had a lifting injury. My primary focus is soccer though so I tend not to go too heavy and do a lot of bodyweight routines.

When it comes to sports, I am the fastest I have ever been (fastest in my team) and I still have the stamina I have always had. However, I definitely need longer to recover after a match, and injuries take a lot longer to heal. I'd say I noticed this starting to happen maybe around two years ago, so age 27. I'm also pretty much guaranteed to get injured if I don't warm up now, whereas when I was younger I'd do some half-assed calf stretches and I'd be fine. So my performance is probably at its peak, but I have to be a lot more conscious about warming up and recovering now.

I think it happens so gradually that you may not even notice it if you take care of yourself. I'm 35 and outside of some aches I didn't have when I was younger (motocross related) I feel great. I'm stronger than ever, and can box, run, and hike as easily as ever. I have a father-in-law in his 50's who does nothing but rock climb, climb ice waterfalls, ride motocross, and downhill mountain bikes and the man looks and acts young as hell. Take care of yourself and stay active and you can maintain for a long time. Obviously even at 35 I've lost a step because it's just how life works, but I sure haven't noticed it yet.

mixed for me,, strength wise im at my best, cardio stamina wise probably around 25 but I think that mainly cuz I was partying non stop for so long. speed wise im not sure cuz im bigger and weigh more now so that slow me down a bit, but not as quick as I was when I was 14 or 21. My son who is 14 and is a star athlete barely beat me in a sprint race. I weigh about 40-50lb more than him. If I was 14 I would have dusted him. I know I can still kick 98% of the dudes in my gyms azz. But I have noticed I get aches/hurt easier. For the most part prob around 35. In general, I would say im healthier than most dudes my age and look much younger than I am. I am happy with my health, I just want to get my stamina and cardio a lot stronger.

My cardio is worse now at 38 - I used to be able to run 10+ miles without stopping once. Now I struggle with 2 miles. My biggest issue are injuries with my arms/shoulders from stuff that happened in my 20s. Speed-wise I'm still pretty damn fast, which kinda surprises me since I thought I'd get slower in reaction time/sprinting/etc.
A million miles away - I don't.. feel.... anything.

30 was a mental fuk

I feel like my peak....looks, physical shape, confidence & overall attitude, sexual prowess & ease of picking up girls was from 25-28

I feel like, now at 31 (32 in 2 months) things are getting more difficult...recovery, I'm starting to show and feel my age more (people still guess I'm in late 20's though) hair is starting to come in at the temples, Weights seem heavier (I'm stronger but it feels more difficult) I have to pay way more attention to my diet, I fee like I stay sore a lot longer. It blows

late 20s

13 - 18 = unstoppable phucking mad man.
19-21 = youth + experience + gainz all working together
22-24 = injuries suddenly exist. slow, minor gradual drop that you might not even notice if you were slacking off previously
25+ = chit cracks and pops, you are not going to make it as an athlete anymore. your hairline starts to crawl back very slowly
30 = death, norwood

Not saying I've peaked at all, but 25 & 26 have brought some things to my attention. More cracks and pops, stiffer after a hard day of lifting, can't eat fast food like I did at 18-24. I've never really thought about it until this thread. Still a ways away from peaking though.

Turning 29 soon. I would say it hit me this year in the form of joint stiffness/pain. Nothing serious, but if I run or play sports, I definitely feel it the next day in the knees and lower back.
