Why is there a conception that black people are unfairly targeted in police shootings?

From what I can tell, slightly over 50% of people shot by police black, and ~55-60% of murderers are black. So, it's about 1:1. Am I missing something?

The point i was making why are people not outraged about the massive murder rate in their own hood.

It doesn't, but statistically speaking most of these incidents (not saying all but most) are caused by them resisting/fleeing/being disrespectful/etc. A lot of times they bring it on themselves.

That's true. But lethal force isn't color dependant. I've been shot at. I can assure you that if I am pointing a firearm at you and you don't comply I am not thinking about your skin tone. I'm not a law enforcement officer so I don't do face such things on a daily basis.

Educated black people hate what's happening to the black community. It's a disgrace to be sure. I don't disagree with you.

We see these people being shot and killed and every time they just won't follow the officers commands. I myself being white have been pulled out of the car at gunpoint as a suspected armed robbery suspect. I complied immediately. I was thrown to the ground and once they caught sight of my 1911 pistol things really went down hill. I had four of them on me. It was all a mistake. I'm alive because I complied. I didn't go digging for my wallet or cell phone or try to pull my jeans up or run away. When an officer in uniform is pointing a firearm at you, you would do well to comply. I'm not saying that ALL shootings are right and the cops are never wrong here. They're human. Mistakes sadly happen.

Racial injustice, that's a tough topic. I've got white friends doing 25 to life. Same for my black friends. If you do a crime and get caught you're going to prison. Color isn't a determining factor.
