It's the way of things in the misc. It's also what's nice about it. It's a fresh (although stifling) breath of air from everywhere else. If you want to protect your feelings, then the misc isn't the place for that. You're best bet is to seek out another forum. That aside, if you tend not to draw attention to yourself (like this thread is doing), among other things, then the psychological damage can be kept to a minimum.
