Started lifting in HS - took break for years and got fat. Been at it since 2012.

I still believe that an average men should hit 3 plates in 2-3 years of lifting with proper diet and programming

315 was a huge mental block, could hit 300 for reps and struggle with 315. I recommend shooting for say 275x5 or 300x3 before you attempt 315. Unless you're just moving right along and it's not a mental block for you.

My strength is basically the same as it was at the 9 month mark after lifting. I guess I can do more reps.
Went from 140 to 210 lbs though. I figured out high reps and pump worked out way better for the aesthetics aspect.

3 plates each side? that's more genetics
some people can train their whole life and never hit that, such as me
i'm past that point tho, too old for heavy heavy weight
gota change how u wo as you age , your joints will make it happen naturally

I remember thinking I was weak when I could only bench 3 plates because I was training with actual athletes. Got up to 385, still didn't feel THAT strong. Go to a regular gym and realized that is pretty unusual.
For reference, one guy was powercleaning 515 @ 185#...surely 100% natty.

Nah bruh and I think I give up on bench. Everytime I make strength gains my shoulders start getting jacked up. No matter what form checking or warmups I do.

Haven't spent too many of my lifting years on strict powerlifting, though. I always get bored of it too soon for some reason.
