Otherwise, I'll just travel the US and stay safe in my bubble.
How do people do this for 2-3-4-5-6 months and even years???

Honestly OP, you sound really chitty at basic life skills.
You keep almost missing trains? You don't know how to figure out where you can go "without getting stranded"? What?
I spent a month all over Sicily, I only speak enough Italian to order food, and I never had any of these problems. You just ignore the gypsies and hawkers, same as you do with the druggie panhandlers and losers trying to sell you fake watches and bags all over the United States. Again, basic life skill. Watch where you're going and you won't sprain your ankle.

Bro relax and enjoy it, when I go on holiday I do what I love, eat good, keep fit, rock climb, mountain climb find the countryside. I am sure as hell not on tourist buses and seeing silly churches. I want to be as far away from my own people as possible.

Travel is almost always disappointing...
When you travel to a location you expect that it will feel and look like the place you saw, read about or dreamed about. It almost never does....It usually feels like you are visiting a major city and there are tiny sectors of architecture and history that emulate your imagination which is almost always the tourist district. The rest of it is nothing but shiddy apartments, Walmarts and McDonald's.
The worst is that you have preset thoughts of how the people will be. The reality is they are schleps just like you that go to work and do chores. They aren't unique or interesting. They only fit the mold of your imagination on their countries holidays in which they reflect on their history.

Backpacked for only 2 weeks solos. I had a **** ton of fun but I do think it's overrated. So many people think "I'm going to go find myself". You don't need to leave your country to find yourself. " I want to learn about cultures" Do YOU want to learn about other cultures or do you want it because other people want it. And are you even going to hang out with the locals?
With that said, I had **** ton of fun but I feel like people do it for the wrong reasons. Mainly its not that they truly want to try it out, its that they thnk they want it because everybody in IG is doing it

But in all honesty, from everything you said, you sound like a complete fuking idiot whose notion of traveling was amassed from collections of wheel of fortune prize pack viewings.
It seems like you simply went, and did exactly what every ignorant moron assumes traveling to be; tourist traps in plain old countries where anything authentic would take too much work for you to get to, and take you far out of your comfort zone. People like you are better off spending your vacation time at home, running whatever errands you've put off, watching tv, etc. etc. Essentially, an extended weekend.

Agree with OP. The **** is there to "see" in the world. It's all pretty much the same ****. Buildings and streets. Unless you go to some country overseas that isn't in the US. See relevant pieces of history and ****. That type of stuff would be pretty interesting.
