This solution worked for all countries that implemented it (Aus/UK).

Complete ban on all firearms (except for law/govt. bodies). This is how it will be done:

- Air tight legislation with 0 loop holes will be introduced.

- There will be a 1 year period that will allow a firearm buy back scheme. Anyone with a gun (legal or illegal) can take the firearm to any center and be compensated in CASH no questions asked.

- How will this be funded? Any firearm in a decent enough condition will be sold abroad. US is the largest arms dealer in the world, this won't be too hard to implement.

- after the 1 year period has passed, anyone still found with a firearm will be subject to jail time AND asset forfeiture no exceptions.

- the asset forfeiture will ensure this works as gun owners will submit if they believe their home/business is in danger if they keep their guns lmao. If it means their family will be put out onto the streets, trust me they'll be obedient

- a new arm of the government will be set up to deal with tracking down gun owners, similar to the FBI or Dea

Unfortunately taking guns from people = civil war. Guns is part of their religion.

There is no easy solution at this point. Making your own firearms in a decent metal shop isn't excessively hard either.

murder rate in united states is 4.8 per 100k.
in europe its 3.00.

From 1993 to 2012, robbery rates:
- In Australia, spiked for five years after the gun ban, took another three years to return to pre-ban rates, and saw an overall 20% decrease during that period
- In the US, with ever-expanding concealed carry, rates steadily dropped with an overall56% decreaseduring that period

common criminals are incredibly short sighted and opportunistic, if they see a way to make a quick buck....they'll take it.

This is about removing as many firearms out of circulation as possible. Make it difficult for these criminals to get these guns (low supply, high price in the firearm black market)

What about the increase in crime when guns are banned? Look up a country where the guns are banned and see how other crimes rise. Are you ok with that? Because every country that has banned guns has an increase in crime.

There is no stopping the gun circulation, Mexican cartels will smuggle them in just like they do drugs

Even if the magic wand could erase every gun, violent criminals would still be violent criminals. They'd simply switch to knives, fists, pipes, and any other weapon. While their intended victims are conveniently disarmed from having the most effective self defense option.

The problem is people, not the weapon they choose to use (as evidenced in my previous post).

What proof do you have for it "working" in Aus and UK? There is no direct drop of after gun bans.

I don't know about you man, but I'd rather have a violent criminal come at me with their fists or a pipe then a gun. The amount of damage a person can do with a knife vs a gun is incomparable. Having everyone armed in a crowded area during a shooting sounds like a recipe for disaster as well. I figure the collateral will be as much if not more than the initial shooting.
