A lot of the examples used where life choices, not privegle. When your cellphone was almost turned off did you find the money to go clubbing the weekend before? Same thing with "if you've never had to worry about next meal".

One of my first jobs we got paid monthly, a few of the guys made good money and for the first week acted like they'd won the lottery, by the 4th week had nothing left and repeat every month.

It's true, that's what "privilege" is... but people always assume that means white privilege, but I think that term is terrible. Saying "white" privilege implies that white people get it. I can't tell you how many white people I grew up around that grew up in single parent rough broken homes, in bad poverty, around drugs with no positive influence or money or guidance and mentor. Including me. I grew up terribly but I'm white... it's actually Really common these days unfortunately, white people and all people growing up in poor broken homes. Look at the stats, over half the country lives paycheck to paycheck and single parent homes are REALLY common. Yet.. media would have you believe that white families are growing up with this privilege, money for university education with mommy and daddy and a silver spoon in their mouths.

The term white privilege suggests that white people get some privilege like these. It's just flat out false.

Your average black person would be offended if someone said "black failure" lol.. obviously nobody would, but imagine if someone said that on the news. Your average black person would be like wait.. what? How is "black failure" ok? That implies that the failure applies to black people, it sounds racist. It simple wouldn't be ok or accepted. White privilege shouldn't really be accepted because it suggests a reality that just isn't true.

Sure, more white families have stuck together and raised kids together maybe than some POC families but not all. Just tell those specific kids they have privilege if you feel the need to. It's not a blanket statement like "white"privilege is. It just creates this false image in POC's minds that white people have this unfair advantage and creates angst and division. It's really secretly a term used to divide people and bring one color down and take away accomplishments lol let's be honest.
